Just when we thought the Macro farmers were pretty much confined to PvE area's and celestus, now they are appearing more in the battlegrounds.
To those who have not seen them, they are the groups of 5-6 that are all run by one person, stuck to each other, and generally consist of a healer/3 PBAoE class/Tank/sometimes a speed class. All with very random names. I have seen them on all realms and they basically just make 5-6 free trial accounts, lvl them through the BG's farming quests and players, sell plats and BP's, delete, then repeat the process.
Now, I realize that they do it because there is a whole market of lazy people that don't want to do that kind of stuff the hard way, and to each their own I suppose. The main issue I have is that they make it more difficult for everyone else to do the BG quests because they just sit there and camp the mob spawns.
If you report it and anything actually gets done about it, they just re-roll more free accounts and start over. Is there anything we or mythic can do to put a damper on this? Am I just beating a dead horse here?

Kill them. A macro group in your bg is massive amounts of free xp and rps because they're trivially easy to kill. If they're on the same realm, go to one of the other spawn locs and finish your quests there until the group is killed by someone else.
Imo, macro farmers make this game a lot better. When they're pveing, they're driving prices down so low that you can buy most of what you need with just the gold you get from rvr. When they're pvping, they're free kills and rps.

never understood why people hate bots of any kind in any game. They make stuff cheaper. I made millions of gold before I quit wow that I couldnt have done without bots farming 24/7 then posting mats for dirt cheap. Gold sellers too. Without them I wouldnt have been able to sell my overpriced crafted items to n00bs with daddy's Visa.

I agree that they should be killed for rp when they are on another realm, and I at least attempt it when I get a chance. My main gripe is that when they are on your own realm you can't really kill them. They sit there and chain pull all the mobs, making it difficult to level. Some of the BG's have extremely poor spawns.
Personally, I have nothing against multiple accounts. I have a bot myself, but, I pay for that account, as should everyone that wants to go that route.
I don't appreciate paying 200p for an astral item either, so, I guess I will just ignore it like everyone else.

Your anger is misguided young padawan.
They are playing the game. (And it's "they" not "him" there's 2-4 people running pl teams)
A constantly growing issue in DAOC is that the "realmness" is a barrier. I'd rather kill people who happen to be on the same side (red, green, blue) that I'm currently playing more often than I'd rather kill the people who happen to currently be playing on of the others. They get in my way, they do dumb things and the game makes me have to interact with them much more.

I'm sure i misread the patch notes but i had thought that anyone in the area would get credit for mob kill?
gotta go back and reread shortly
