I thought because it is a song, once the minst starts casting, it cannot be interrupted by dmg or amnesia right? Even if the Minst is stunned, once stun wears off the spell will continue to cast and if you are in range you will get mezzed? Is this how it works and is there a difference in their single target vs Aoe mez?

Yea this is pretty much how it works. It can be interupted at a certain point of the songs start.
The difference is that the aoe mez is casted and takes forever to cast. Its a spell and not a song.

Is this a recent change because I remember the old text on songs said if it required an instrument, it could not be interrupted meaning the spell. Now after the spell was cast like Bard speed, that pulse can be interrupted by combat but not the casting of the actual spell I believe.

I can see the aoe if it is a spell and not a song can be interrupted like any other spell. But I don't think the single target can be interrupted can it?

So you say it can be interrupted by say an instant dd spell like in the first half of the spell being cast? Like amnesia works on caster spells?

If you know or have a Minst so know for sure, please respond. I keep getting different answers from different folks.

I've been interrupted playing a song before on both my mins and bard.

EDIT: Although now that I think back on it it might have just been the "in combat" text for speed...

Mez CAN be interrupted, not that hard to test. Duel a minst, hit him and have him try casting his mez. 100% for sure positive

But yes, after a mez, or stun, if you make it past the point where you normally would have been interrupted, minst mez will still go off once the CC drops. Pretty sure there was a patch a while ago that fixed bard songs from being interrupted, and I think the minstrel mez/power/speed songs as well.

I tested with my bard. I can cast my "song" spells like endo, speed and they were never interrupted by being hit in melee, not at the beginning or the end of the cast. The spell still went off and no interrupted spell messages like I got when trying to cast say a heal spell.

endo and power songs will cast while being hit and will show the icon at the top regardless of incombat. The Speed song will cast but no icon while in combat as you have to be out of combat for the pulse to kick in again.

I know I have hit and cast on a Mint when he is casting his mez to no avail. For those saying it can be interrupted, tell me the scenario you are doing this instead of just saying it can be done. Is it just with melee dmg or with an anmesia spell? And this is in Thid, level 24. If you are saying it can be interrupted using and RR5 ability or some champ ability then that's not the discussion here.

if you prepare a spell after 50% of the casttime the spell will be performed even if interrupted (afterwords you still get the interrupt time to cast a new spell). You can notice this on spells like power shot or ml titan (spells with long casting time). Since songs are afaik not afected by dex minst mezz is a 3 second cast. So after 1,5 second you can interrupt the minst but he will still finish the cast 1,5 seconds later.
