Any of you hear about the new Mark Jacobs MMORPG?
Neither have I.... lol
Poor guy must be wondering where it all went wrong. Ousted from his own company, then watching the company get vaporized.
Then again I wouldn't call the guy poor. He raked in tens of millions for himself. He's probably sitting on his duff creating a few social facebook apps with his friend Richard Garriot :-)

Umm...were you not watching when he was leading Mythic? Lulz, it was vaporized long before he left. He did some good, he did a lot of bad, but without him daoc may have never been made.
I've said it before but...the game went downhill fast as soon as Matt Firor left.

uh, the game went downhill fast when they fired the data mining guy telling them that RvR was what people wanted them to focus on, not ToA. They fired him and released ToA.

yes, it is funny watching everything he built implode. the dude was so arrogant. I loved watching him whine about how badly the forums treated him, eventually leaving in a temper tantrum. LOL.

ToA was one of the best expansions. So much in fact, that it is still the most used expansion in the game today, minus housing and NF.
Plus...RvR is not what most people wanted them to focus on, see wow.

DAOC has been very successful and I imagine he's proud of it as he should be. I know many of us have been here for many years. We wouldn't be if it wasn't a good game. Or in Angryranger's case he just doesn't have anything better to do. Just kidding. 
And yes, he did create a new company that is going to work on social and mobile games. Haven't heard any specifics though.
PS. Mark says he departure from EA was rather amicable. |
