those analogies are fail,

because those are all things that have an end point, that stop...

old players can easily reactive daoc and start up again if they wanted to, so checking the forums for progress of the game makes perfect sense.

I agree with the original poster. I returned a month ago and started from scratch. So far I have 3 toons: a 49.5 ranger, a 49.5 warden, and a 50 enchanter. I brought the 50 enchanter to NF and literally spent 30+ minutes asking nicely for a group every 3 minutes or so.


I never got a group so decided to solo. All I can say is LOL. Archers two hitting me from all directions. More often than not it's groups of archers. And when I wasn't getting pwnd by archers, it was the roaming speed 6 groups that obliterated me in less than a second.

I completely understand I'm not supposed to compete so easily with people who have been playing for years, but this is absolutely rediculous. Unless you have a close knitt group of friends, you will be relegated to an archer as your main toon. And even that's rather unpleasant with all the MoS5 stealthers and stealth lore items out there. Once in a blue moon you will get lucky and some bard will play his AoE speed and endo chant so you can follow the mini zerg around, but that's rare.

The new frontiers are way to big, and the effort to get anywhere only to die in a handful of seconds makes it a very unpleasant experience. Dare I say it.... I actually enjoyed WoW type of BGs more than new frontiers. The DAoC BGs are nice, but I never intended to stay there forever.
