Actually, it's only in bg's. And yes, it is out of hand in BG's but oh well. In fact I think that makes BGs even more fun to play at times, even though there isn't too much be said about class balance. You have a lot of potential to destroy people by landing a nice mez and having other group mates that know how to use other forms of cc.

When I played CV permanently for a few weeks, a while back, there was at least 5 different occassions where I took out a full group with just my Bard plus my Chanter (dual logged) and another random caster that I picked up. It was a lot of fun

The problem isn't the CC.
It's that there is no counter-CC in BG's.
Particularly for Nearsight and Mez. There is no way to cure nearsight in Midgard up until level 40.
Personally, I think cure NS and de-mez need to be given to two new specs each, and all made available at level 20.
May I suggest giving them to Mend Shaman, Mend Valkyries.

It's still valid today and unless something is done it will still be valid in 2023 if DAoC still exists.
It might still exist. Meridian 59 still exists....so does Ultima and Helbreath...

game isn't balanced around lower level RvR etc etc etc
seriously, lack of CC is what makes pvp even more terrible in all the new games.
CC rewards skill rather than who can bring more to the party >.>

Blanket mezz is a problem if you and your group don't have the tools to counter it, but mezz isn't the problem in CV. If your group is capable of getting blanket mezzed then it'd most likely get rolled without any mezz at all. You and your group should be panning so someone out of the eight should be able to warn of inc, and in that instance just spread out or use charge. Get high determination as well as that reduces the duration of CC. Additionally, if you're in an unfortunate position to get blanket mezzed, then your demezzers should purge and demezz the group.

They're not. Don't compare BG RvR too much to NF/lab, especially if you haven't been to NF yet.

What he said. Yes, CC might be rough in the lower level BGs, but in CV for example, your group must be robust enough to handle everyone being mezzed (and cured) at least once in an 8vs8 fight.
