30k glass? Are you an octopus running 8 computers with multiple accounts? Who the profanity has that sort of time on their hands?

A friend of mine farmed 500p and i think around 130-150k glass in 2 or 3 days(not play time) ^^

Simple and easy solution for mythic, raise the cm money cap to 999 plat, let the items be sold. Removed from list. Solved.

The glass for ml 10 idea is great considering ml 1 to 10 is 30k glasses. Ppl find joy in rvr, not trying to get into a ml 10 farming raid which no one organize nowadays at least for mids. Opportunities to gear your toon means more people rvring to try the gears means more action. More action means more subscribers.

Think about it.

I can only laugh at the irony of this thread.... People first begged for Mythic to BAN FARMERS!!!! Now that they're gone ML10/Dragon Loot & Scales have reached ridiculous prices.

I for one always thought the farmers were a blessing in terms of driving down loot prices so the casual DAoC player could afford them. This just goes to show you can never please a game's fanbase...

Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

On the bright side people only need to wait 120 days from the time they were banned for the houses to be gone and the items removed from the market.

Can't we just keep one encounter in this game with loot worth making some type of attempt at getting?

While that is true, it does not mean the game needs farmers. What the game needs is a game company that understands the game economy and who will make adjustments to the game so that individual items do not skyrocket in worth/need/price.

If the items were not so difficult to get at (exceptions do not invalidate a general truth. If the items were not sufficiently difficult to get at, the items would not be priced so high) and if there were similar items available through crafters then the market price of the items would tend to peak at a much lower level and there would be the added benefit of the items not being very interesting for a farming group. I think it kind of stupid of MJ to have a hatred for farmers and then to have created huge numbers of items that would foster the growth of the very groups he hated. But then MJ always had a difficult time comprehending the true implications/ramifications of his actions.

Imo creating a merchant that sells these items is a copout band-aid approach to fixing the real problem. Mythic needs to stop slapping band-aids on problems and they need to actually fix the true underlying problems. But the easy and lazy method of fixing things is to just slap the items onto a merchant so there is a good chance Mythic will use the easy/lazy/band-aid solution. Mythic tends to like the easy/lazy/band-aid method of solving problems. . . .that or they just stick their head in the sand (play the fiddle) and pretend Rome isn’t burning.

It's the players that don't understand supply and demand, and the implications of their actions. If there weren't complaints/appeals, then those farmers would still be in the game, and players would still be able to get inexpensive dragon and ML10 items. It's fitting that the same players complaining about farmers then complain about rising prices, and don't see the connection between the events. Before the last ban wave, ML10 items were about 20% what they are now (i.e. they were about 5x what they used to be). Then a few observant/dedicated players with a small bit of resources corner the market and raise the prices drastically. As long as the player base does not understand this, the cycle will keep continuing. Considering people haven't noticed that this has been going on for years (with the first noticeable bannings being during the Dragon's Revenge campaign), expect this type of thread to be happening periodically.

No, you see, this is why the game economy is all farked up:

People cried too much. EA/Mythic/Bioware/whateverorwhoeverthehellrunsthecompany decided to make things easier for everyone. This meant healing RP, shear RP, making RP and bp rewards per kill skyrocket out of proportion, making high realm ranks that, for my "daoc" generation, took a long ass time to get to even RR5. Now you get RR5 in like 2 weeks assuming you have the right setup.

Then they made farming much easier. They made it far too easy for a select few to farm ML10 and other encounters/items who jacked up the prices. Then they made plat easier to obtain, which then further jacked up the prices. New and returning players then come back and say "Holy [profanity] wtf. I don't have time for this!" and then they quickly cancel their subscriptions.

Now you're asking them for more "easier" ways of going about it. Now, while I agree that this might be easier, it's definitely not the solution. I have a full time job, train after work in a sport M-Th for an hour and a half, and I've got a very active social life. I don't want to spend the few hours a week that I DO have to play on farming all weekend long for multiple weekends.

What they really need to do is provide greater incentives for raids to get together to do these things. I never see ML10 runs anymore. I saw one maybe once every other week when I first re-subbed, but now I don't see any, ever.

Stop making the game so damn easy and farming-oriented, and make it more dependent upon the other players to get things done. When everyone can just farm independently, it kills the social aspect of the game and ruins the character-building.
