this is the impact of the items armor factor on the damage you deal on a target.
i have created a little tool => http://tool.excidio.net/melee.htm for testing. hit "calculate" to calculate the current settings. hit "test" to reset it back to my personal test settings the value for min and max damage looks a bit to high i am going to look for a reason on this. also toa af is not included yet. ah and green marked elements where used in the calculation, red ones raised the error. and please just use this in a modern browser google chrome or so. an old IE will not work

DakRT: And 4 Scouts makes a [stealth] zerg huh?
Zyzyg: What anytime snare are you talking about?...Your anytime style should be Polar Rift. Clearly you don't play a Shadowblade.
Steot: Its fact, I just dont have proof.

when looking on the unstyled damage again i figured out that + spec + rr above the enemys level +2 does not increase the base damage (~wyrd spec). but +spec from items does. not 100% sure how it does it but i think it is increasing the damage table with 0.01 per point from item. so +11 item increases the paladins damage table from 1.9 to 2.01

is your tool using a style ? if yes please enable growth and base settings. Also if you really deal 480 damage on a chain target with spec af as a hybrid without crit and at maximum haste possible, then seriously alb two hand is superior to mid, cause i cannot even do close to that damage at 2,2 swing speed with my skald.
edit: doesn't change with different haste buffs - so is this supposed to be unstyled? I really like your work, but this is still not even close to the reality

it's unstyled and it's still not completed. it's still to high but yet i do not have a idee what factor i missed.

This is one of the most informative threads ever! Very nice work Vanesyra!
Nice tool too, although it's definitely greatly overestimating my Minstrels melee damage at this point. ;-)

a little update on the styles growth and basic values. i use 3 times to huge growth values there, the game later multiplicat the value with 3. but the value stored in the daoc database is 3 times lower (a growth of 3 => 1, 6 => 2, 9 => 3,...). also the game does use the level at which you get the style as the "base" value (or more exact, each style has a base level value. this is used for lvl 50 master level styles for example) and this is also 3 times lower.
this does not change the formula's results. but i found a new and easy way to grab the exact values along with much other stuff.

and the wiki is great, if some more people would help editing it it would be even better
tell me if i missed any important information on a style. or if i should display stuff on a different way, have coded the converter quick and dirty ^^ also please note that some styles are duplicated even if they look exactly the same. but they are different styles! for example a heretic can't use the reaver's opening style even if the followup is equal. so i put them all in the lists. bit annoying some times to know what style belongs to what class ^^ but there are no class markers within my data
