Welcome back to the game! I too have been gone since 2004.

Even now in 2012 the game is quite nice, the characters and their animations are very well done. Textures are quite poor compared to modern games, but not as much as one would think for a game that is 10 years old. Having said all that, combat is very fun and the gameplay is amazing. I love how, even though it seems to have become easier, it doesn't cater to infants like WoW or Rift and it takes a bit more nous. Some interface and game mechanics seem very dated after having played aforementioned games (group window, target window, some tooltips) but oh well, that's not the most important. Oh how I miss the golden age of this game, it will always be my favourite MMO.

I transfered all my archived characters on Ywain 10 with Albion and Ywain 9 with Midgard and also on Gaheris if anyone is interested in joining up. I know I could use some company, the game is empty whenever I log on.

Some updates on my case.

Original issue:
I have 2 accounts and account A is running fine while Account B has the popup error of "incorrect account or password" during game login. I thought I had the password wrong so been emailing with CS but no luck.

Update:
I tried to change the password thru the account management website, tho it requires the old pwd but I have nothing else to try. Surprisingly, the pwd I used was correct, and I tried it a few times successfully. Somehow, it is the login process or screen that cannot recognize my password. Sent a support request to CS but no reply.

What I found out during my struggles to get access to my accounts is that there are 2 types of accounts you have, both with the same name, but different passwords. You have the Master Mythic Acount, which you use to log into the EA website, and the game account, which you use to login to the game.
If you can't log into the game but you can on the website, you need to get your game account password reset.

Well I had a similar problem.

It is a pretty complicated system, I guess it is the price you pay for several takeovers and mergers.
Anyway, I had my passwords but the game kept saying wrong password or account.
So I dug into a backup of my password manager, used my old password, and it worked

The thing that I am wondering now is, if the DAoC account that I linked to the EA master account is not my game account ( it clearly is not, cause it has a different password ), then how can I ever change my DAoC game password lol?

To sum things up you have the following ( I think ) :
- EA Master account
- Mythic master accounts ( WAR, DAoC, UO, and another one, don't know what it is for )
- DAoC game account ( Which has the same name as your DAoC Mythic master account, but a different password )

Exactly lol.

I tried going to the Subscription pages of my accounts on the EA page but changing the password there doesn't change the game account password.
I guess you can't change it anymore, only the GMs can reset them probably. /shrug


Anyway, I'm glad that another returning player has managed to get back in game.
