Thats a good idea If you play the opposing realm within 2 days you get no rewards for doing it.

Yeah it looks very good no doubt. However, I was equally excited about the original GW, but once I played it I just couldn't be bothered to care about it. It wasn't bad by any means, but it never felt like I was playing an MMO or navigating a persistent world.
I think GW2 will do a lot to alleviate that, especially the WvW combat is something that is so obviously lacking out there in other MMOs...or if they do have it, it's very poorly implemented.
It looks & sounds great, but until I see it I'm always skeptical these days.
Definitely looking forward to playing it though!

Sorry but i just can't get excited. The combat system looks cool (animations are ridiculous though ) but from what i've seen the "frontier" area doesn't promote open field action at all. It's all chokepoints and linear paths running from keep to keep.
Feels to me like they are doing the same error Warhammer did in that they promote the sieges themselves (which doesn't look very fun i might add) way more than the overall "open world" feeling.
I could be wrong and I hope I am. I'm not going to buy the game on release though, that's for sure.

I know alot of my enemies in DAOC just from race/looks/playstyle/areas they camp etc...
I can live without a name system if that's how it ends up

GW2 wvw will actually be alot more like DAOC Old frontiers, remember back in the day when the zerg got too big so a group would just go to the other realm and start action there with guard spam? you can do that in GW2 there will be alot of roaming groups again. the video s i watched where people actually explored and didnt run down the path showed alot of open area without choke points.
I dont understand why anyone would not want to buy this at launch? why be bored for a month and be behind everyone else in the game. There is no sub fee so if after a few month you decide it wasnt what you wanted your not losing that much $. and guess what if you ever get bored you can still get on and play it...forever. starting with everyone else and exploring and figuring out stuff is alot more fun than jojning in a few months later imo

horrible art style.
i look at the graphics for GW2 and instantly have absolutely no interest.
beyond that.. it could be the greatest game in the world, but if i cant stand to look at it... i certainly cant play it.

Agreed! GW2 looks to be much better. Realm hopping will be gone, for example.
Agreed! Realm hopping WILL be gone....because there's no realms. Also, let me introduce you to server hopping!
they are penalizing people for server hopping. no benefit from pvp for several days. nice try though!
You mean no one has complained yet that they will only get 1/3 of the game if they do this? Balderdash!

Yes, integrity and caring for the long term health of the game are rarities. LOL.
