If your finding it frustrating in the BG's .. then go PvE outside the Bg's to learn the class a little, couple of hours and you can hone a few skils.

casters; learn your distance and your fastest spells.. make combos and use root to kite and gain distance again even in the middle of a fight. The more you move the better you will do out in the BG's because stealthers everywhere. learn to kite and snare/root. endo plus sprint always

Tanks; learn your positionals, stuns, and use celerity pots always. endo plus sprint always.

healers; learn your fast casting heal spells and single target spells.. use high heal spells only when u need to!, to save power. learn your CC (crowd control). Move around always, kite!, endo/sprint! in grps learn to not be conspicuous at the start.. find a hiding spot or in the back to start your healing..and keep moving. learn how to buff quick and what classes need what buffs.

Enjoy each class to the fullest.. learn it welll and try all the different specs.

lastly.. have fun.. it's just a game and one of the best.. besides all the complaining peeps do, they are still here playing everyday because it's fun!

Aye,

While no role in DAoC could be said to be truly "easy", there are some that are "easier" than others. Below are just my opinions about class roles and ease of play within the world of DAoC...

Pure DPS classes - They're by far the easiest dynamic to pick up in DAoC. The only hard part will be learning how to assist, peel, etc...

Support Classes - A little tougher. They're generally the all-a-rounder's in DAoC. They can do a little of everything and you have to communicate with whomever you happen to be playing with as to what role you'll be filling. Or simply decide on the playstyle you enjoy and go with that role until you find a group that happens to be looking for that dynamic...

Tank Classes - Fairly tough to master. You have to constantly juggle aggro on various mobs, staying within heal range, using the correct styles, abilities and equipment for the various situations you'll encounter in the role...

Pure Healing Classes - In my opinion the hardest class to master in DAoC. You have to constantly monitor heals versus aggro. You also have to keep proper buffs up if needed, maintain a constant vigil on players for poisons, diseases, mezzes, nearsight, etc, etc, for cure purposes at all times. Focus on which single target or group heal or even which spreadheal should be employed for the groups particular circumstances. I'd say by far the roughest and toughest role, but also the most rewarding if preformed right as well...

Light tanks can be incredibly easy if you have another light tank in your group that knows what he's doing. You literally just do everything he does, and it's an effective way to drop targets.

Other than that, a pure healer is incredibly easy to play after you get used to cast times and what to look for on the field. You literally just stand 2000 units behind everyone and heal/cure them.

Druid/Cleric is the best way to learn RvR (PvP).

You'll get groups, and you get to stand in the back and watch. There's usually a 2nd healer in the group to help cover your screwups. In the BGs at low levels, you have very little to worry about, just keep people's health bars full. At 50, it gets more complicated with buff shears and such.

Make sure your gear has the maximum dex bonus (2x your level) to get your casting speed up. Spec half for buffs, half for heals (ignore smite/nature). You'll be dependent on others to level, but that shouldn't be a problem in the battlegrounds.
