Disease or getting your group in guarded a tower or keep are the only times I use spread. It is like training wheels for new healers...or lazy. Take it off your main bar and use group and single target heals and not just for the RP's, unless you're buffbot spec'd your spec heals are going to be faster and more efficient with a little know how and work.

Spread heal is a powerful heal even in open field fights. If you take it off your "main bar" and only use it in siege, you aren't utilizing your healer to its fullest. People who never use spreadheal because they think it's a nub spell are just as bad as the people who do nothing but spreadheal.

This.

Time and a place and so on and so forth.

I have 3 bars of spells...spread is on the second bar. It gets used but it is the old 80/20 rule with it being 20 not 80.

i think they should give rps for spreadheals and add them to /stats heal aswell. because that would make it possible to better compare healers performance in the battlefield.

you see so many very very bad healers that only use single and group heals and never use a spreadheal at all. why? because they do not get rps for it... that's so silly but it's how some people think. they never see the utility of spreadheals and they never see a spreadheal user outperforming them on /stats heal because it does not count.

not saying that using 100% spreadheal all time is good. a good mix and a good use on situation base is the key. but currently to many people do not use spreadheals because they simple do not give them extra rps... it's so fucking bad to have a rr11 aug healer in your group that never uses spread... not mater of los, disease and how many people get damage... but in the end of the day she is happy with some extra rps..........

Sorry if you thought for some random reason I ONLY used spread heals; I meant I use them for "spam" heals in keep situations. Chances are if you halfway through a 2.8ish cast time when someone takes damage, and the spreadheal will go off before they die and heal for a LOT more than a group heal. In fact in keep situations I think the fact that spreadheal goes through disease makes it better than group in almost all spaming situations. Clearly if you are REACTING to press a button you'd hit group rather than spread, but I see clerics just not only spaming groups, but spaming BASE groups since they don't have the the regen to spam specs. This is TERRIBLE. By the time you are ready to switch to a "real" group heal you are probably in the middle of casting a heal that isn't going to do ANYTHING other than leach you 20 rps.

As for lord pushes, I'd never cast anything other than the 48 spreadheal if I wanted people to not die. The group heal takes like 3-4x the mana for the same healing and all it takes is one disease to kill someone.

Wild healing and all of the other bonuses you can get make the baseline group heal better than you think when just spamming it. Obviously it's not meant to keep your group alive, but a simple 150 heal takes that much off if that person is hit without even losing power. You also should ideally have two classes casting it so it becomes 300 hits which negates nearly half of the dmg. Then when the two healers switch over to spec group heal its not gonna matter.

It's all situational though. We could give you a thousand scenarios where it would, or wouldn't, be better. Your job is to realize when they are, simple as that.
