I'm just kinda simplistic and when I right-clicked there was no "Add toons to team" option so I thought it was a work in progress, a part of the software that was coming soon.

I really appreciate this kind of feedback. This is very helpful. I'll change the interface to make adding toons more obvious.

Hey Rob,

I might be kinda slow here. I'm trying to understand the backups etc

1) Ok so i open the mojo backup folder and there is like 5 backups on each char. Some are xxxx-55.back1 others other xxxx-55.backup1 whats the difference between back and backup?
2) Im guessing the latest one is backup #5 not #1?
3) when i right click on my healer and save settings to a name. im assuming this saves to the mojo folder but under what name? i respec my healer to pac and aug alot and i have them both saved and it works perfectly. i want to move those 2 saved files to my other comp but dont know where they are.

Maybe you can add a column in the favorite toons tab next to level where we can manually add the realm rank for each char?

Sorry, I made this confusing by accident. When I wrote this feature originally I told Mojo to use "back." Then in a later build I changed it to "backup." The result is that you may have five extra back ups on your hard disk for every toon. The "backup" versions are newer. From now on, all backups will be "backup."

I just noticed the folder is named "back," which is inconsistent and silly. I'm going to start using the name "backup" for the folder," so from now on you'll have two folders and it will be even more confusing.

Well, it's an alpha test. These things happen.

No, it's what we call a rolling backup. Mojo keeps reusing the numbers 1 through 5 in order. Like this: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 1, 2 .... At any given time, any number could be the newest. The only way to check the age is to look at the files in Windows Explorer and sort them by age (by Date Modified or some other Date column).

By the way do you need a backup for something related to Mojo? If it damaged a file I'd like to know.

Thanks a lot for letting me know. It's very helpful for me to get feedback about new features as soon as possible even if it's just telling me, "It works."

Thanks for pointing this out. I didn't mean to hide the info from you. I'll add an item to the Debug menu so you can find this easily. They are in:

%APPDATA% \ roaming \ MojoWare \ Mojo \ daoc \ saved_toon_settings

I can add the column but you won't be able to enter information directly in the column. You'll still have to open the Toon Properties window for that. Is that okay?

Sweet got them, maybe add a shortcut under DAOC tab takes directly to saved toon settings?

In which Dark Age of Camelot folder do i drop these (.ini) saved toon settings at on my laptop I can't find the right place >< ?

It just occurred to me that you might not realize that the program can do this automatically for you.

You're doing it the hard way and it's not necessary.

Just use Load Settings on the healer on the first PC. Then go to the laptop and use Import Settings on the other toon.

Mojo is designed so you don't ever have to look at files and folders. (There's one exception -- you have to set DAOC's install path.)

Been using Mojo since 2010 (internet hipster: engage! ) and the now extinct Launchpad before that. It's really exciting to see all these new features. I can't wait to see what you come up with next

Rob - I tried what we talked about some time ago. I came to the conclusion that it wasn't for me, but thank you for giving me the opportunity to find out in a much less financially damaging way

Hey Ian. Launchpad's still on the server. I don't have the heart to kill old programs. Did you notice that the Save/Load/Import Settings stuff in Mojo is pretty much what you suggested to me long ago? Er, it is, right?

Lol. Thanks for letting me know. It's fine. You don't need this stuff to design games. Over the years many people have asked me for help learning to program -- maybe over a hundred -- and I don't think a single one of them ever learned.

I think this happens because nowadays, with computers everywhere, the small minority of people who are capable of enjoying programming teach themselves to do it in childhood. If somebody gets to their twenties without teaching themselves, it's probably an indication that their minds aren't constructed in the peculiar way that makes programming fun.

Or maybe I'm just really talented at making people dislike it!

I just want to make clear to everybody that what you are asking is totally unnecessary because this is exactly the sort of thing that Mojo does automatically. This is what it's designed to do for you. I don't want people thinking that they need to do this if they use Mojo.

But if you want to do this manually:

First, you need to rename the file. It has been named by Mojo. DAOC won't understand the name. YOu need to remove the inner part of the name so it has the form TOON-NUMBER.ini. The number is a code for the destination toon's server. If the source toon and destination toon are on different servers, you need to change the number to the appropriate code.

Then you need to copy the renamed file to a subdirectory of Electronic Arts's roaming app data directory. If the destination toon is on a regular server, the subdirectory is \Dark Age of Camelot\LotM\. If it's a test server, it's \Dark Age of Camelot\Test\LotM\.
