No sir. If I'm say, in a retail environment where a coworker is stealing a little money from his register and I'm aware, it's my duty to tell a superior and they're free to deal with it as they wish. It's off my back.

However, in a sexual-abuse-in-a-school scenario, if someone under my authority is accused of abusing a student, it's my duty to inform a superior as well as do what's in my power to remove the student and/or teacher/coach from the situation. You can't knowingly leave someone in power who has abused a child, even if he's simply accused and it's not yet been proven.

In my mind, the reason you can't do so is common sense, but in the case that it's not: 1) if the abuse actually occurred, pulling him from that position will prevent it happening again, 2) if it hasn't been proven to have occurred, it keeps the coach/teacher in the clear from further allegations in the meantime until he's been proven innocent. It's a no brainer - pull him from the situation as soon as there are allegations. You can't gamble with kids' futures by leaving him in.

If the person in question is guilty of doing those things to begin with. This stuff is nothing comprared to the news that Iran is trying to build a nuke. Not that i dont think they have every right to do but the US will try to use that as a excuse to mess with them and nothing good will come of it.

Again, if he's guilty, he will have been pulled before damaging other kids. If he's not, he's safe[r] from allegations.

Also, red herring.

True story Um. Also, I wouldn't be suprised if they do pull down Joe Pa and all the rest of those guys based on the law that a teacher is required by law to report instances of sexual abuse. I can easily see them extending that to the University level and dropping the hammer on everyone. Also, this isn't just Joe Pa, it's everyone from McQuerry all the way through the University President. They all f'd up.

Yup, and the fact that this defensive genius coach reportedly didn't get any job offers strongly suggests this little secret was pretty well known - I think there will be more and more folks to blame.

Also, I'm starting to suspect Sammy Baugh was a child molester who sold nuclear secrets to the Middle East and this is an effort to retroactively excuse his actions.

I am sure that these events mean much for the victims than any news that Iran is trying to build a nuke (which they have been trying to do for decades)

IMO there was a way for Paterno to prevent future occurances of this heinous act, and he did not do everything in his power to do so

We arent talking about someone having some weed in their pocket and their boss telling them to knock it off instead of calling the cops, we are talking about knowingly keeping a man on campus that was molesting children...

But the couch and anyone who knew about it and did nothing should do jail time and be put in cells with known prison rapists.
