Gravy is easy.
It's the biscuits I can't get right. They range from flat to average.
While my MiL just throws handfuls of stuff into a big bowl, pours some buttermilk on top, and they come out perfect every time.

I'm from Cali, but grew up in southern Indiana and I still don't like biscuits and gravy

Taken me a long time to perfect my biscuits,,
I use differnt cookie cutters for the grandkids.. Last week it was heart biscuits lol

LOL My first batch of biscuits were hearts. Couldn't find anything else and I was in a hurry! I actually just bought a new set of biscuit cutters the other day.

i've never had bicuits and gravy from scratch, just the stuff from cracker barrel and denny's and places like that. I'm going to have to go visit some of my southern relatives and get some.

Pally,, my collection of cutters has grown alot!!! Amazing what designs you can get now.
I have a collection of Christmas cutters that we used at the preschool I work at and made the applesauce/cinnamon ornaments. The snowman, angel and tree make cute biscuits too 
My first biscuit cutter was a coconut can lol
