ArKKane,

I have no idea what GR's plans are and if they are even interested in getting into an alliance. Altus and others would know. Once again, I left GR this past weekend and then they removed my ALT a 25 bard, so I am without a Guild on Lancelt.

Storm, not sure exactly what you're asking, but the vast majority of relic attempts are led by individuals from guilds other than United, KOS and HALO.

Keep raids occur when 1 or more hib group encounter each other in the frontier and someone says, lets go take such and such, so have no leadership per se most of the time. And we continue taking keeps til the albions show up in numbers we can't kill or DF opens, whichever comes first.

We've always had a problem with ego jostling on this server/realm.

Being less egotistical, HALO has chosen to join alliances with small neutral guilds. At least til the spam becomes unbearable.

Most of Hib are weary and bored with DAOC. HALO is waiting for SWG or another new game, and DAOC is where we park our butts in the meantime. We kill when it's convenient, we level when it's convenient, and since preplanning comes with the usual Albion spies in Hib (with the kind of number advantages you really have to wonder why they bother spying), it's pretty tough for anyone to preplan many raid.

Guild types? This is my perception, and of course, please correct me if I'm wrong, but IMO, KOS is more number driven than HALO is and more individual oriented. They are good players for the most part, and push a whole lot harder than HALO does.

HALO is more team oriented. We're a group of people who like each other and enjoy playing together for the most part. Our core has been playing together now for almost 4 years, and we're all going to SWG together.

We started in DAOC together too. First guild not on Lancelot but on every server in the game, HALO was a guild within the first 2 hours of Final beginning. Our guild website is as sophisticated as VN Boards if not more, and represents literally 100's of hours of coding from an award winning designer (the site itself won a Snitz Award). The range of forums and possibilities are staggering, and of course EQ HALO is still going and shares the site.

Another defining trait, most of us are VERY reluctant to give Albion RP's, and many of us would sacrifice our own rp's to prevent Albion from getting any. It's not just about getting the rps, who cares how many times we die doing it. We like giving em up less than we like making the points.

United, someone else has to fill in, I really don't know.

ATM tho, from an alliance perspective, there are only 2 options. United and KOS. HALO isn't interested in the political and functional aspects of alliance management, we perfer to have fun.

Helennae, KoS is completely group oriented. Our groups are usually 99-100% KoS players. We are very group oriented because we trust our lives with the abilities of our guildies to do well in RvR.

KoS does not have an alliance, we asked that all our alliance members join the United alliance a long time ago. The only people left in our alliance are our sister guilds (have real life friends with their members) and guilds who's gm has not been online to join the united alliance. We chose not to participate in an alliance after a crapstorm of political maneuvering, lieing and backstabbing. These are all things we don't pay 12 bucks a month to deal with so we don't.

KoS is an RvR guild plain and simple. We take care of our own and group with each other 99% of the time. KoS is not a power leveling guild. We run very few exp groups nowadays. KoS does not bother too much with taking or defending keeps (we would rather jab a sharp stick in our eyes), however we lead, follow and participate on relic raids.

In other words, KoS is down with slutty hardcore rvr. As most of us are many of the oldest hibernia players on Lancelot we have tired of just about everything other than killing people. The only reason we log in is to team up with one another and kill people. It's our fun and what we do well.

.

.

[Edit} As far as best guilds? You can't quantify that with an answer because everyone is looking for something different in a guild.

If you're looking for powerleveling help KoS sucks.

If you're looking to be in a big alliance Kos sucks.

If you're looking for carebear social chat channel KoS sucks.

If you're looking for pure RvR KoS is the best guild at the moment.

By looking at the Herald you can't tell what is the best guild for an individual but you can see which are the most successful RvR guilds.

The best guild is one that best meets your needs. There are alot of good people, and guilds on the server. If you are looking for a guild... follow along on Raids, join xp groups or whatever to get to know members of the guild. See if you even fit into the guilds make-up.

Large guilds like United, KoS, HALO and my guild Trinitas are not always the best for everyone. Even though we are great start

i was in united for my whole DAOC career, its a great guild, full of great people, who help out the realm when it is needed, like every guild in hib that actually helps, i can name one i do know that only helps when the issue of relics come up...
