If your an earth theurg, all you can do is Buff your group, and run pbt. If you cast pets or nuke you will run out of power so quickly that then your pbt stops, which if your pbt stops you are pretty much taking up space in a group. We are walking talking bubble blowing buff bots.

No, it isn't. I played both on Pendragon at a 50 spec. Earth is far worse. Try it and see.

I'm afraid I must agree that Ice is the greater of the two evils here. After all, how many theurgists are out there with Ice as their main spec?


Yes Earth is boring and drains power like mad, but at least the 6 sec bladeturn and weapon buffs are useful. The only thing Ice spec is good for is a weaker direct damage than its wind counterparts that drains power at an insane rate and a snare that is worthless if you have rooted/area rooted the enemy.


But that's just my opinion from playing a season 50 theurgist(47 earth, 26 ice). <shrugs>


Edit: Oh and let's not forget resists nowadays. At least bladeturn and buffs can't be resisted... except for the whole archer deal with bladeturn <sighs>.

Its only slightly less boring, plus it fits in with the whole Earth Theurgists are insane from lack of being able to do hardly anything other than buffing.

TheurgFrair, I like that. I've done it many of times, I mean why nuke when I can at least go in and fight hand to hand, and oh yeah I have a staff that has an insta fire damage on it, so woohoo. WATCH OUT

In brief, for the speed-reading Midgard players who have misread the topic to read "Air Theurgists need love".


This topic is NOT ABOUT THE AIR SPECLINE. This topic is ABOUT THE BROKEN EARTH AND ICE SPECLINES.


The more Albs who move back over to Earth and Ice (almost all theurgs play Air now) as a _utility_ class, the less 'uber chainstunning pets of death' you'll have to face in the future.


If you don't believe me, /level 30 a theurgist and spec them Earth or Ice yourself (NOT AIR). They're awful and they only get worse from there.

There really isn't any need to take a theurg up to 30 to figure out they suck, just start one out. 1-5 and you'll quit.

I made mine full air till 40 so I could level on my own till pbt was important. Sad, really, but earth/ice suck lots.

Wow I think the idea of putting cold debuffs in earth spec is a good idea.


Would put theurg on par with mana chanter and runecarv runie, being able to 50% debuff, then baseline ice nuke.
