I have some radical new ideas for all three Spec lines, ideas which we all know mythic would never implement.


But here goes:


Earth line:


Pet Damage Add (chant) 0s/6s/8s Would be 4 versions of the spell, gained at say lvs 11, 21, 31, 41 as examples. Would scale similar to the Warden/Paladin/Skald DPS chants. This spell would give all pets a boost to melee damage while the spell is in effect. Power cost would be 1/2/3/4 per pulse.


Pet Shield (chant) 0s/6s/8s Would be 4 versions of the spell, gained at say lvs 14, 24, 34, and 44 as examples. This spell would scale similar to the Paladin Shield chant. This spell would give all pets a boost in defense while the spell is in effect. Power cost would be 1/2/3/4 per pulse.


Ice spec:


Pet Constitution (chant) 0s/6s/8s Would be 4 versions of the spell, gained at say lvs 11, 21, 31, and 41 as examples. This spell would allow each pet to have 10%/20%/30%/40% more max HP while the spell is in effect. Power cost would be 1/2/3/4 per pulse.


Pet Life (chant) 0s/6s/8s Would be 4 versions of the spell, gained at say lvs 14, 24, 34, and 44 as examples. This spell would allow each pet summoned while the spell is in effect, to have 10%/20%/30%/40% longer duration. Power cost would be 1/2/3/4 per pulse.


Air spec:


Pet Speed (chant) 0s/6s/8s Would be 4 versions of the spell, gained at say lvs 11, 21, 31, and 41 as examples. This spell would scale similar to the Warden/Healer/Sorcerer speed spells. This spell would give all pets a boost to run speed while the spell is in effect. Power cost would be 1/2/3/4 per pulse.


Pet Haste (chant) 0s/6s/8s Would be 4 versions of the spell, gained at say lvs 14, 24, 34, 44 as examples. This would scale similarly to the Druid Haste buff. This spell would give all pets a boost to attack speed while the spell is in effect. Power cost would be 1/2/3/4 per pulse.


This gives each line 2 useful pet chants, which will help the effectiveness of Theurgist pets. The numbers can be tweaked of course for balance. I've put a power cost on each because others may deem them too powerful without one, but it is a low power cost.


These still go along with the following:


Earth: GTAoE of some kind

Ice: AoE DD/Snare

Air: AoE Stun or Single Target Mezz (1m 20 sec)

I left DAoC about a year ago and have been keeping track of it on and off. Most of you probably dont remember me. I used to be very active on the boards trying to get theurgists some love. I left after the whole 1.59 crap came about.


Well I see you all are still giving the good fight! Good for you! Let me throw in some of my support too.


As I preached before, swing based duration and access to wild minion would be a huge help the us when considering our gimpy pets.


It would be nice to have our mez uped to 1500 too.

thoughts for the improvement of earth and ice


earth:

- GTAOE DD/Snare

- debuff cold damage

- reduce cost of 6sec pbt for all (even warden/runie)


ice:

- AOE DD (hailstorm) -OR- AOE nearsight (Fog)

- ice elementals PROC dd instead of current CAST dd AND dd level scales up with level of pet.

- fix the ultrabuggy AI for the elementals

- increase delve value of dd/snare. Baseline nukes should never be the weapon of choice over a same-line spec nuke.


all theurgists:

elementals should be able to reach targets, even on ramparts, windows, etc. If LOS is good and in range, spell should be able to affect target - earthellies tunnel, airellies fly, iceellies keep on PROCing their DD.

Uggh, but the pets are so miserable. A bard's typical complaint is that, as soon as someone notices them with an instrument, they're dead.... even if the pets didn't have an insane power cost, they still tell everyone within visible radius, "Hey, I'm easy realmpoints!!"


As for the Mids and their resists, they could use help in a lot of areas, RA's and some reorganizing of spell lines, but that has little to do with whether or not Theurgists should get some love. Both should, imo, and I've bumped several mid threads in support of it. Also, I've heard rumors that the new "master levels" will include something along the lines of pbt for spells, that may have an impact, and may be one of the many reasons Mythic is holding off on improvements in some areas.


As for theurgist-wizard merge, aye, I knew they were the same class (in beta maybe?), but as time's passed, RA's have come into play, and spellcasters have grown weaker through resists/sc/etc, I don't think it would be overpowered now. Drop the pets, it's an idea that didn't work anyway.


Castable stun is a great idea. Smite cleric's stun is the only one we get, and with so few smite clerics these days (*cough* tynerf *cough*), we don't exactly have a comparable stun to the other two realms. It may be something that would need to be seriously evaluated to consider the consequences, but something to at least look at, no?


And with the new definition of a light tank, I can't help but wonder.... if they no longer consider theurgists a siege caster, why not come out and tell us, so we can try to come up with ideas that fit more in line with Mythic's "vision" for us? Or any kind of comment at all?


Still rather annoyed that Alb got their "Alb love" patch, and one of the classes who could use it just as much as the others, if not more, was completely ignored. (Unless you count making two of the three pets run a small percentage faster, and nerfing pet stun, "love"?)
