While Lexi went to greet Sister Elaydith, Azaeli tucked the thick quilt around Pappa gently and leaned close to him.
"I shall right this for you, Pappa," she kissed him on the forehead as thier footsteps creaked on the stairs. "God keep you until I can fetch Tobyas." She looked up at the elder sister and Lexi, standing solemnly in the doorway. Her note had explained all that was important for the cleric to know, and Sister Elaydith hugged Azi silently as Lexi went to Judan's side.
"The packs are there," Azaeli whispered in the sister's ear. She trusted this woman as she would have trusted her own mother, and knew she had no cause to worry for the security of her father or anything else in the house for that matter while she was keeping vigil. Sister Elaydith nodded.
"Lord Crispian bade me tell you to meet him at Vetusta Abbey." She crossed the room and patted Lexi on the shoulder warmly before kneeling at the bedside in prayer. Azaeli's eyes met Lexi's and a world of emotions were exchanged before Azi turned abruptly and rushed down the stairs. She was still angry with Lexi for leaving, though grateful that she wasn't pressing the issue by offering arguement or even an apology, for Azaeli didn't know how she would respond. With Lexi close in tow, she made her way to Vetusta.
