1. So. Do you think you had a tough time growing up? You know, in your opinion...
Honestly, not really. I've always been thankful for what I have.. and I know people have had it a lot worse than me. I was lucky to grow up with a really big, close, and loving family. When things seem to go wrong, you can count on people to be there for you.
2. Art requires a fair amount of introspection - what's your biggest challenge when doing your art?
My biggest challenge is copying my ideas onto paper. I have a very vivid imagination and I think my brain works faster than my hands.
3. What inspires you?
Fantasy and the inner child. I love to make people believe in alternate worlds, creatures, characters.. it expands our imaginations. People take things too seriously anymore.
4. What terrifies you?
The thought of losing someone close to me again. I've had to deal with a fear of my mom dying for a long time.. it's affected me a lot.
5. Okay. You're popular. Do hang with a diverse crowd or are you closest with other artist types (birds of a feather...)?
It's actually both. My closest friends are the artists, but I didn't plan for that to happen. We all started getting serious about drawing around the same time, so we've practiced/rivaled each other for years.
But I can be friends with many different types of people. For example I'm good friends with our head cheerleader, the founder of the anime club, and a record setting track runner. The only people I don't really get along with are the druggies.
