Thats a good question, what criteria do you all use to see if Decal is working? Some sort of Test bed? Just curious thats all...

I'm no AC purist but I think that it might be more challenging and fun to play the game without Decal.


Yeah, we're gonna miss the buff bots and other stuff until we see word from Gouru or any other Decal Dev but personally, if we're gonna try & draw in new players...isn't it about time that we stopped using Decal and started using our wits.

Yes it is challenging, Yes it's fun to play RAW AC once in a while.


Portal bots and buffbots are a part of the game. I'm guessing no one who whines about decal remembers the days where people would constantly beg for buffs or portals to Teth.


It was a big deal and why they destroyed Arwic, and the way Tethana was... Man those were the days... get portal stormed out of tethana into mobs of shadows during the shadow wars.


I do NOT miss in the least the begging for buffs. A brand new character is just plain frustrating to play with out a buffbot.


Heck no one remembers it taking 4 months to hit 14 because no one could even learn the spells to cast a IV.


I miss the Eastham fizzle dancers too. 15 guys/gals in a line all doing wrong spell comps that made them all move in unison doing odd things.

Anyone who is forcing others to use decal, need to Stop. Everyone should be able to play the way they want to. I keep reading posts where people say they enjoy playing without decal and TPA's. Who ever is forcing you, tell them to stick it up their nose and mind their own business. Don't let others tell you how you should play.

In my case, I have limited use of my right hand from some old sports injuries. My right hand is in a semipermanent claw, with the exception of my index finger. My bad hand tends to fatigue rather quickly, furhter limiting its use.


Decal allows me to rebuff on my own and play more easily. All I use is Infinity, BS2, and Robochef. If it wasn't for the ease that Decal brings to the buffing process, I'd probably be a bot baby or quit AC altogether. I just see the feasibility in having a half a character (bot baby), or playing a game without buffs when those buffs have become so central to competative hunting. I have two token mages on each account, but both are low level and more like side projects. I'm not going to macro them up. That's not how I like to play. I also like the ease of corpse/loot management with BS2.


Anyway, I'm pretty patient and can wait until the Decal Devs get it updated. By the way, I just want to thank the decal devs for their work. Without Decal, I probably would have quit AC a while back.

Thanks to Gouru and others who are putting so much time and effort into getting Decal up and running again. I GREATLY miss my color and vision helpers. 3rd eye, Fellowlink, Kebas, etc, that handle filters and text color changes ingame. I'm red/green colorblind and am finding it increasingly stressful to play without the plugins that help me see what's where and who said what. Filtering combat using the ingame filters doesn't work well as it's not discriminatory enough. It filters ALL enemy, ALL self, or ALL combat, not various portions of any. 3rd eye lets me know when I'm about to run right through a large pack of creatures that I can't see well otherwise. Before ToD launched, I watched my Nerfus Bufus cycle closely and mirrored my spellbars to match. I may be the only player on Dereth who has 80+ spells on one spellbar, but I can just arrow over to the next one from start to finish. In my pre-Decal days of yore, I wasn't a leader and I had far fewer people to talk to and things to pay attention to. Now, mutlitasking is a challenge. One I don't welcome.


I do miss being able to answer tells and questions and comments and set up a quest while buffing. Buff aids make for a MUCH more efficient use of time when you're leading a boatload of people through a quest or a hunt.


I miss Bandit Sight, too. -sniffles-
