I understand that too many cooks spoil the broth, but I've offered to help multiple times, in multiple ways (even going so far as to create a howto find easy memlocs ) -- including asking for any memlocs that still need to be found.

I'd like to help and I'm sure lots of others would too...

well.. you're definately right about that... too many cooks.

We've pretty much got all the stuff under handle right now.. there is nothing currently right now that having more people would solve. We're still finding memlocs, and we're making really good progress.. we've got it down to a system here. The main problem with the memlocs is that they have changed so much. Most of the old ones aren't even around anymore.. which means we are finding NEW memlocs to use instead. So it isn't as if we can give you a list of memlocs that aren't found yet, because we're looking for things we need to implement, then checking to see if it is already found. As for the old memlocs, all the ones that aren't completely obsolete I believe have already been found. The ones that are obsolete, we're working on creating replacements for.

Currently, the best thing that can be done is have patience. Just sit back and wait. Unless you want to go grab source and start re-engineering the rendering code, there isn't much right now that can be done externally.

I would like to send gratitude from the entire world of SC for all the effort you guys are putting forth to get decal up and running for all us lazy people who don't like to buff. I was around way before decal so i'm not quite as spoiled as some of the newer players. Take your time and do what it takes to get it right and we'll adapt and overcome in the meantime. You guys are doing an excellent job and everyone that uses decal is appreciative i'm sure.

Keep up the good work!

Drakier- I know nothing about progreamming at this level but I got a question for ya, if turbine was to know what you needed and were given the incentive to do so could they tell you what you need. The whole anti macro crap can stop here, I am only talking about getting decal up,

Unless they were to 'officially endorse and support' Decal, they really can't do a whole lot to assist. I'm sure they have already done what they can, up to the limit they are allowed. They did/are change the ToS wording.

Seems to me Turbine could accidentaly send an e-mail of memlocs to one of the decal devs.

I mean someone at Turbine must have a list, or be able to make a list.

I don't know. Just seems like fear of lawyers to me lol

Someone from Turbine should take a list home, open a Hotmail account, and send the dang thing lol

Just my thoughts ;-)

why would turbine have a list of memlocs when they compile and work with the source code....

Edit:

Possibly a list of revelent functions and signitures... but theyd have no need to examine their compiled exe for that.

I personaly was looking foward to the API they had discused.
