Dragon I agree...if it weren't for Decal, Robo-chef and Infinity I probably would of had to leave AC long ago...I tend to play long hours...before Decal I was lucky to play 3 or 4 hrs and miss 2 days cause of excessive swelling/pain in my hands and wrists...so even though many are against and many who abuse Decal there are many who really rely on it and use it for what it was intended to be...an aide to AC.

LOL I know this is getting old and I bet the devs are tired of hearing it BUT is there any idea or ETA at all on when decal will be operational again???

After all the activity the last few days, a new thread is probably in order.


Thanks guys for putting the effort in getting decal working again. Despite the very small minority of thankless players that expect you to do it (and they all seem to be drawn to the VN Boards), the majority of us know this is extra work that, for the most part, is over and above your other hobbies and responsibilities.


Thanks again and hopefully a quick solution is coming!

Then why did you ask? If you know we're tired of hearing it, and it is getting old, then what makes you think we want to hear it again?


The answer is the same now as it has ALWAYS been. We have NO ETA. We will not ever have an ETA. Please stop asking. Tell all your friends to stop asking. Make sure that everyone you know who plays AC knows to stop asking for an ETA.


The ETA is whenever it is ready. If we had an ETA, believe me, we would have posted it by now. When it's ready, or when we have an ETA, it will be posted. Until then, just wait. Asking about it only makes us post these posts and waste even more time dealing with people asking us the same questions over and over again. Granted I wasn't actually working on Decal right now anyway, so it doesn't detract THAT much, but it does take time which I'd rather not have to spend answering yet another ETA post.


You may ask "well then why did you answer it?"... the reason I answered it is because the word needs to be spread to stop asking for an ETA. As a Decal Dev, I'm officially saying... STOP ASKING FOR AN ETA!


This goes for now, and for later. NEVER ask a Decal Dev for an ETA on anything Decal related. If we know, you'll know. That's the way we work.

You have to realize where he is coming from. Everytime there has been a big enough change in AC that broke decal requiring more than just locating memlocs, people post on the boards asking for an ETA. Over time, it begins to wear on those being asked. Hell, even when the only changes were memloc related, the boards would be loaded with posts asking for an ETA.


That being said, I think he was very nice in his post, considering the many ways he could've worded it.

Heh! I would chip in for a month worth of pizza.... but after reading this huge thread I agree with some things:


I wish there was a way to stop "UCM" and only allow "ACM" at least to shut up the whiners that can't play the game without automation. I am playing the game just fine without Decal, but miss it terribly...


Why?


Time! I have a life and can't play AC for 8 hours straight, but my 1-3 hours I get is precious to me and if Decal can speed up the loot identification and buffing my character process, then it makes me happy. I don't want to remember what spell I left off at so now I have revit/S2M on a different bar so when I flop bars, the other bar does not lose my position and allows me to continue buffing from that point.


I find a lot of my time is reading the description of every loot item I find and that slows me up. (Thank god for BS/2 and sixth sense)


Buffing with NB2 bootleg is great, even if that failed there is still sapphire or Infinity to fill that gap. Once again:


Decal = Time saved
