I have thought about adding Oracle of Dereth-like route finding to GoArrow, but currently it's piled under quite a few other projects on my back burner, and may never happen. But just thought I'd let you know I'm interested in doing this.

Route finding is extreemly easy with ELTank.


On the first tab of ELNav, use the search to find the location you want to goto (Search can find locations by partial name matches).


Click on the location in the results list, then press the 'Set as Destination button'.

Do the same for the start location, or tick the 'Use current coords' on the Routes tab.


All thats left to do is press 'Generate Route'.


You can copy any location to your clipboard (for later pasting) by clicking on the locations icon.

Does ElTank give you real time coordinates from your current position as you are approaching your next waypoint in the route?

No, it will only give relative coords on items in the search list, not waypoints.

The two features I liked most about Oracle:


1) The location list is in a nice dictionary order.

2) It has the ability to dynamically show how far you are from your next way point in relative coordinates.


Number two is very important to someone that is navigationally challenged like me. You would not believe how many times I've looked at absolute coordinates and gone. The number for the north/south coordinate is too small - head north. Not thinking that I am at 11.0s and need to get to 13.0s...

I loved Oracles ability to display a small window with the realtive coords to my destination.

Even better would be a HUD displaying the relative destination coords.
