If you missed the post due to the ET forums being so spotty today, or cause I buried it in other threads here and elsewhere . . .


For those that uninstalled the old decal and tank, cleaned out your registry, then got the endless looping error 97's when you attempted to turn on El Track or El Nav, this work around may help.


** Symptoms: **


Decal 3 Alpha 5b and Tank 2.6.0.20-Beta 5 load fine, basic Decal and Tank UI buttons present in game.


Attempting to turn in EL Track or EL Nav results in the following errors:


"Run-Time error '5' Invalid procedure call or argument" followed by an infinite looping Error 97 (or 91?) until you crash out.

Edit your registry AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! If you don't know what you are doing - then don't try this at home. (I have to say that.)


** Workaround **


Exit game, shut down DECAL.


Open your registry to HKLM\Software\Decal Plugins\EL Tank\<char name> where <char name> is the valid full name of the character you play using tank. Repeat for all characters as needed.


Example key path\name: "HKLM\Software\Decal Plugins\EL Tank\UnDecimus"


Find the "GUI" value. If the value does not exist, creat a new DWORD reg value called GUI in your character's key. (Without the quotes of course)


Assign DWORD GUI a Decimal value between 0 ~ 7 according to what you want enabled:


0 = Main EL Tank only

1 = EL Track

2 = EL Nav

3 = EL Track + EL Nav

4 = EL Buff

5 = EL Buff + EL Track

6 = EL Buff + EL Nav

7 = EL Buff + EL Track + EL Nav (all)


I noticed on the very first login after enabling any one of the auxillary UI's for the first time a one-time error that stated:


"Error in Routine: LoadRegSettings Line: 0 Error Number: 5 Error Message: Invalid procedure call or argument"


( Note: This error never repeated again, and subsequent logins did not reproduce the error. All functionality seems to be okay once you have forced the various UI's to appear by manually tweaking the registry. )


Close RegEdit, start Decal and AC . . . enjoy.

Don't know yet, never bothered to check that . . . but lemme see if I can figure it out.

Added El Buff to the directions in the first post on this thread, it's the same bug apparently and I got it to work with minimal fuss in the registry.

****ADDITIONAL FIX****


Copy MSVCR71.dll from your C:\Program Files\Turbine\Asheron's Call - Throne of Destiny and paste it to C:\Program Files\Decal 3.0

When u say additional fix, do u mean do both, or one or the other?

ok I am guessing both, because I did just the second one and got the same error...
