I been reading the boards for about 5 hours now... and i am getting tired.


maybe i am missing something i don't know.

I did a clean install.. or should i say a clean reinstall.. i cleaned out the registry files like on one of the posts

I manage to get one pc to work.. .. My OLD one with less ram and cpu power but otherwise the same settings like this one with the problem


I know this is alpha and not the final release. I just want ideas on ways to get this working again. It worked before but it won't know..

You havn't said exactly whats wrong.

decal3 5d is 2.9.3.4 so i don't know about all those 2.9.3.6's you have in your setup


possibly you downloaded a test trail version of 5e or 5f and things aren't working right go to sumcarto's and get 5d.

Just a suggestion, I am NOT a computer Nerd so please bear with me if i get any info wrong.


In your AC folder there is a File that is called something like Dowloads or Injections or something, basically it is the one that sends the information to Decal when Decal requests itor something liek that.


Anyway in that file there is a line that should say "acclient exe" again Im not sure of the exact wording, if you have used Duel Client on that compuetr it will say "acduelclient exe" instead.


You need to remove the Duel part and then save the file as amended.


I am sorry if this has just been a load of gibberish, Im a housewife trying to be helpfull and not a computer Nerd trying to be overbearing.

shouldnt most of the runtime libraries be installed to?

I have the same problem: Decal will not show up in-game.


I would rather NOT go through an arduous edit of my registry, as I followed the short clean install instructions before on o\another computer and they worked perfectly.

If Decal isn;t showing in game after a fresh install....


Check you HAVE installed the D3DX update as mentioned on the ACDev forums.


Still no good?...


Goto your AC install folder and find a file called Launcher.ini

Open that in notepad or wordpad.

Look for the line that starts


'Application='


The full line should read 'Application=ACClient.exe'


If it reads 'Application=ACDCClient.exe' then you havn't done a clean install.

Ok.. I got that to work.. kinda I see the decal bar in game but i crash to desktop right away.

you still have some filters that are a "newer" version (look at the version numbers, all should be the same)


Last I knew, 2.9.3.4 is the last public release (Alpha code) from the Decal Devs, you have:

I am not sure how you came by these, unless you got them from a Decal Dev for testing reasons... but I think those folks are running 2.3.9.5... (updated for testing, private release)


You need to try a clean install from the decal Devs website, and you may wish to post this on their forums.
