Again, to Everyone that has better gameplay because of this Thread... My Pleasure!


Bottom Line: If you don't have a performance issue playing TOD or D&D or WOW or any other online game... Hey good for you... but why post that you don't?


Is it to show 'other's' you have a problem with comprehension of a Topic??!

I am more inclined to believe the problem lies in a conflict between the McAfee or Norton Security Suites and MS AntiSpyware Beta.


Either alone likely won't bog down a system too badly, but both are known resource hogs, Norton more so.


Personally I use a professional grade AV solution with the MS AntiSpyware and have very little issues around performance on my older system.

Meh I got sick of managing programs... spent a few bucks and voila. It's amazinjg what upograding that old calculator/toaster over will do.

Nope, just making people aware that if they do have video issues and have MS Spyware Beta installed, removing the beta may not actually help them at all. You shold post your entire configuration (hardware and running software) and that would help give people a better idea as to if your fix may work for them.


I guess your copmprehension is off a little too, some of us were posting that this is not a possible problem for video lags and freezing in ToD.

The above statement seems clear enough to me. IF you are running beta 1 and IF you have been experiencing these issues, try his solution.


Chaz and others who are being so negative: If you feel the need to flame/bait someone who has found a solution to his particular problem and is trying to help others, then I feel sorry for both your lack of social skills and your inability to read.

I routinely shutdown Microsofts beta AntiSpyware before playing most games. What I fond interesting was the the OP felt that shutting off the three real time protections improved his framerate more than shutting down the whole program.
