You might say I finally got fed-up with the constant performance problems since the recent undisclosed additions to the patch's that caused the video stalls and freezing...


I have been checking, testing, disabling, uninstalling and overclocking my system in an attempt to recover playablility in AC...


Well, last night I noticed similar video problems with playing a new game I installed a couple days ago...I attempted to play it online and there it was... low frame rate, video freezing and general annoying lag...


My first pick was Microsoft anitvirus beta 1...


Rather than disable it or shut it down like I usually would... I deactivated the 3 of 3 system monitors... I cleared the log's... I shutdown the autoupdate... I started the game... PRESTO CHANGEO!!! Smooth as silk video... no lag!!


Played it for about an hour... no overheating or additional problems...


I logged in game with decal and ran around in the marketplace for about 20 minutes with none of the problems I usually experience that had me running into walls etc...


I dual logged with decal on... hit a dungy for 15 minutes... very slight if noticeable at all low frame rate...


Shut down...


Went and made the 3 of 3 in Spyware beta 1 active again... started the new game again... all performance issues back again...


So.. I figure anyone who is running the MS spyware beta 1 and has been experiencing these issues when playing AC... Try deactivating it yourself and post your results, Please!


Disabling is not the same as deactivating... be sure you click on each monitor deactivation, one at a time!

Could you be more specific about what you disabled? What are the three monitors?

i deactivated the beta ms spyware, but i was still choppy in the marketplace. other then that all was fine.

Running MS Spyware beta here with AC, no issues.

I have been running the MS Antispyware "Beta" since it was released along with AC, and I have ALL the Security Agents enabled.


No problems as you describe.

More specific...


There are 3 security agents in real time protection...


Click on them individually and then click to deactivate...


It works for me when I am playing AC and like I originally posted... a new game I installed.


Disabling is not the same as deactivation.


I also run Macafee antivirus...


But I have not disabled it...


I hope that is clear enough now...

my system runs sweet with all the programs you describe, at max graphics settings and it is not a bleeding edge rig my any means.

You are assuming that the solution for you is a solution for others. Many of us were poiting out that this software is not causing us any issues in AC.
