You also get nifty freebies from Microsoft if you enroll in a University program that has a partnership with Microsoft. For example:

Kalt, for now I have been re-doing Combater as Combater 2, but if you want it back, I can zip up what I've done so far, and get that off to ya. It's all in C# now, using the codeless views, etc.

Either way, just let me know.

No, you're doing great with what you're doing, keep it up!

I'll pretend Chazcon there doesn't exist, because my failure to maintain a VB6 (which I admit I am not well versed in) project bears no implact on my ability to maintain a C# project (I prefer to write in C# - more familiar syntax and easier to write for)

Bearing in mind also that if everything I released was "crapware" as he puts it, why would I be employed by a multinational company as a software developer? Ah yes, spouting off while knowing nothing about the topic FTW.

OK, just wanted to make sure you didn't want it back

As for Chazcon, that's about par for the course. He just seems to not like much of anyone, or the work that they put into the plugins.

As for VB6, I'd have to agree. While I can do rather odd and overly complicated things in VB6, it is much less convoluted, and easier to maintain in C#

1) All software relased in the world is not perfect or even good software. Working for a large company does not automatically make you a great software programmer. Nice attempt to play the bully card.

2) I like people who are stand up and do good work. I have zero tolerance for half-developed crap passed off as an 'improvement'.

3) I especially dislike people who take over an old macro, change it away from the original designers' intentions, release it under the same name, and attempt to gloat in the glory. Look up 'maintain'. You may notice that does not have the same definition as 'change' or 'upgrade'. If you add your own new pet features to an existing work, have the common courtesy to rename the program so that you stand or fall on your own merit, and not ride on the laurels of the original developer. How many 'new versions' of Combater do we have now? And none of them simply do what the original plugin did, in the same way, with no new features added. Adding features to create bloat-ware is not good programming.

How about taking over the U.S.T. program? The last programmer that did it said they were "almost done and about to release" but that was 5-6 months ago.

Nobody wants to invest time in a dying game. Playing, sure, but squeezing yourself through a knothole to develop a plugin, only to see it used for a few more months? I can understand that.

I haven't played AC for a while. I want to come back and see exactly what has changed. I'm wanting to create this handy little plugin for this keyboard because *I* want it. However I figure if I'm going to make something for me that others might like it, then why not (which incidentally means I have no intention of taking over anyone's project, not UST, not anything). I want to do this because I want it, but if anyone elase has an idea of some cool stuff they can get out of something I'm making for me, then I don't see why not.

In regards to your other comments:

Over the last 6 months I've been away engrossed in work. You know what working as a developer teaches you? 1) proper QA. 2) discipline. will a feature be liked and used? if the answer is no, don't write it. 3) proper control practices. always maintain a version control system so you can roll back. always.

And here's a wonderful tip: I add features people ask me about. Just because YOU didn't, doesn't mean noone did.

And for the record, I especially don't like you(r attitude)
