Something which I always thought should be part of routing in these sort of plugins would be to assign different weights to certain portals. For example:

Shoushi to Sanamar: 0.4k

- the time it takes to go through the portal and watch das blinkenlights is approximately 0.4k of running for the average character, as Digero said

Abandoned Mines to Shoushi: 2k

- it's a quick, simple run to the bottom of sub, but it still takes around 15 seconds (actually probably more like 20), plus the time for two portal trips. Is 2k enough?

New Sub to anywhere: 2k

- about the same as old Sub, and while it can be dangerous for lower toons, that doesn't figure in really

Desert March to Small Black Hill: 4k

- a long run through this dang dungeon, with some excellent useful portals at the bottom such as Small Black Hill. Is 4k enough??

Would be a nice feature, and you would only need apply these to exceptional dungeons -- most portal listings are quick, normal place-to-place ports.

A last functionality to add to this fantastic plug in could be to get the possibility to find our path in a dungeon with a 3D map coming from ACmap. a red dot showing the player /fellow on the map could be a must.

Many Thanks for your work.you make a great job

Like Drakier said, it's not possible to figure out where your character is in an ACMaps map without extra information that translates from a dungeon landblock to a pixel on the image. While it'd be possible to gather this information, it'd probably be very time consuming.

That said, I had been planning to add the ability to view an ACMaps dungeon map for the dungeon you're in (or any dungeon). It wouldn't show your location on the map, but at least you'd have the map. There's also the possibility of generating a Magellan-style map of the dungeon, but I'm not exactly sure how that's done.

I've also been working on an interactive, detailed surface map of Dereth, similar to those in other games like AC2 (at least, I think I remember AC2 having something like this -- I only played the trial).

As far as donations go, I (and most other Decal/Plugin devs) do this as a hobby and won't ever charge money for plugins. If you'd like to donate though, I have a PayPal link on my site

With the way GoArrow currently works, you can only specify additional running distance for start locations (though that is broken in the current release ). It would be possible to add the ability for the user to specify additional running distance associated with any location, but that may be more effort than it's really worth, and there's no reliable way to add defaults for that.

In the next release, "Underground" Portals (ones that require you to go through a dungeon) are going to have twice the portal running distance associated with them (0.8km instead of 0.4km by default), since they actually involve going through 2 portals.

If you are addign info for subway type dungeon portal nexus do not forget Umbral Halls, it does have 20 portals, and the time needed to dodge the shadows and idols is above zero if you are timing stuff.

Rotating the map shouldn't be a problem

It would be nice if you had a choice to use data from ACSpedia, too. It's so much more descriptive and easier to add information to the database.

The CoD data is missing a lot of stuff and has errors.

For example, in Umbral halls, CoD doesn't have any info on which direction to go for a particular portal.

Their location for Clemenza is wrong.

When I try to add or correct info on CoD, my email is rejected with a vague "not a member..." error.

However, there is a slight problem with the ACSpedia data export using any mode (http://www.acspedia.com click instructions)

The integer values representing coords for any entry that had updated coords are incorrect, but the textual values are correct.

Thanks again.

I emailed Geomancer a while ago about getting data from ACSpedia and never heard back from him. I had been planning on allowing you to choose which database to use, but I couldn't find how to get the data from ACSpedia in XML format. If you can either get in contact with him or give me a URL that exports ACSpedia data in XML format, let me know.

AC Spedia has various export modes, to my knowledge they are:

http://www.acspedia.com/places/cgiGetLoclaces.aspx?mode=zx&date=<mon>/<day>/<yr> (used by zExplorer)

http://www.acspedia.com/places/places.aspx (AC Explorer 3.x)

http://www.acspedia.com/places/places.aspx?mode=acx22c (AC Explorer 2.x)

and I think there is one for Oracle of Dereth as well. I'm using the AC Explorer 3.x URL myself and use a regular expression to filter each line (and convert it to the CoD xml format for internal storage). Afaik there's no XML export.

[edit]

See http://thelostcorpses.com/derethexplorer/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15&highlight= for the Oracle of Dereth URL: http://www.acspedia.com/places/places.aspx?mode=ood
