I've noticed when routing to somewhere on the ML plains, it doesn't tell you to take the Base portal to get up top... same thing with routing to the Insatiable Eaters (125+) you have to run around via Fiuns Outpost.

These aren't really "funky" routes, but mainly due to, well, physical objects in the way that you can't run straight from A to B.

But then again, I'm not sure even OoD knew to route around physical obstacles either. Hmm. Just a thought I suppose.

Anyhow I did finally get the plugin to work and its awesome!

I've noted a number of times it has given impossible routes. I'll double check the other kinda stuff I found, seems like more than one had me running way out of my way to get someplace close by.

Route finding doesn't take into account any kind of terrain obstacles -- it assumes that it's possible to run between any two points on the map that are within a certain distance (50km by default). I'm considering a few options to improve the algorithm to deal with this, but it might end up slowing it down significantly.

It also weights using portals as equivalent to running a certain distance (0.4km by default; in reality this depends on the character's run speed, your computer's speed, and your internet connection). That'll make it less likely to use a portal if there's a route that's only slightly longer by running, and will probably take less time if you just run.

Still though, if you find a funky route, post it.

Digero,

Any idea what the conflict with GoArrow and ImpInventory is?

Arkayas said he found a problem with ImpInventory and made a fix, but complied it with a version of decal that hasn't been released yet, which means it doesn't work with the current public release of decal. He said he'd compile it with the current release, but I haven't heard back from him.

A last functionality to add to this fantastic plug in could be to get the possibility to find our path in a dungeon with a 3D map coming from ACmap. a red dot showing the player /fellow on the map could be a must.

Many Thanks for your work.you make a great job

Locating within a dungeon on a map from ACMaps can be VERY difficult as there really is no standard to many maps on the site, let alone being able to determine exactly where you are in relation to a picture.

In order for that to work, there would have to be some extra data associated with the map giving a direction and a starting point as a reference... it would also most likely need some sort of "scale" as the size of 1 "block" can change from map to map..

as you can see, it isn't very feasible to in real-time "locate" you on an image map. Magellan was good for this because it calculated the map in real-time based on the actual dungeon walls.

yes i agree but i am sure that we can find some tips to do it easily like rescaling manualy by the player the red dot time to time.its better than nothing

Some 'concept' work has been done by Greg Kusnick that shades areas that are impassable. It's very early stuff, but a neat concept.

It is theoretically possible for this same technology to shade floor blocks inside a dungeon, leading the way

However...the stress is on 'concept'. There are currently no plans as to when (if ever) it will be completed. But it does make for an interesting idea.

Thanks for the information .I am sure that Digero could do it himself or with some help.anyway it could be a great gift for the AC community and really interesting to make it.

as i am not a king developpers like yours but only an AC fan and a COO of a telecom compagny passionate by your works the only thing that i can do is to find some funding to do it if needed. time to investigate and to develop this kind of program sometime need money....and time

PM me if needed i will help
