Goddess, no. Why would anyone use Lisp or Scheme if he or she could avoid it?

The CLI languages are far superior to VB6. You could consider either C# or VB.NET successors to VB6, since the .NET Framework is geared towards RAD in a similar manner to VB6.

Personally, I prefer C++/CLI to either C# or VB.NET, but in terms of writing only managed code, all three are more or less equivalent (C++/CLI can use the small number of CLI features that C#/VB.NET have issues with, but none of these are a big deal and there are ways around them). I am too much of a hardcore C++ developer to find developing in C# or VB.NET natural, though I can read either language fine... I just can't get the same amount of code flow that I have in C++.

Hi Pure.

You want to go with VB.NET becuase of all the new wrappers that were added

to make things alot easier to do in the new Decal.

just an FYI.. the new wrappers also work in CLI and C#... not just VB.NET.

It really depends on your programming style.. if you prefer to code in C++, then CLI would be more up your alley. If you prefer Java like languages, then perhaps you'd like C#. If you really liked VB6, then you'd most likely want to use VB.NET.

They are all pretty much the same thing when you get down to the low level stuff, but the high level offers different syntaxes for different styles.
