Why are you playing AC on a server?

Anyways, is this with Decal or without? If with, does it work with decal off? post a decal export.

AC should run on the server. That being said, not all manufacturers have solid drivers for the Microsoft server OS. So you are going to need to do some research on the driver and DirectX side of things.

The other area to check into is allowing the ports. Depending on what else you are running on your server, you may find that your other applications interfere with the communication the AC server and the AC client.

would that cause it to not even start the client? or just not connect once it is started?

I've got it running on my server. That being said, I remember I had to do something special to make it work, but for the life of me I don't remember what. Try asking on Turbines tech support boards, I think they know.

If I remember correctly (no promises) it had something to do with DirectX 9. Check Control Panel 'Classic View' to see if it has a DirectX configuration. I'm not sure if I had to do something special to get that.

Open it, and under Direct3D, make sure that 'Allow Hardware Acceleration' is checked.

Its been a long while so I'm not sure if that's what it is, but it is ringing a few bells with me. If thats not it, it was something similar.

If that doesn't work, try asking on the Decal support or User-To-User boards, maybe someone there remembers the trick...

well taht ended up working,. then i tried to switch characters and it wouldnt resync the screen, had to reboot into safe mode to get it back, then it gave me an error for DX when i started back up. logged back in and wouldnt even get past the character select screen.

For the syncing issues, make sure you have all the latest drivers.
