Yeah, I agree with Chaz. Dump the buffed stats. And also, what does the column "Steps" represent?

Thanks for the input ..

I also believe in the KISS method..

and yes I tend to over think things...

I think that is why I drive my wife crazy.. But who knows..

Anyways..

When you say dump the buffed skills am I correct in saying dump it in the sort function? or do you mean on the character stats page? or Both?

Sabian I like both of your ideas... I will most likely go with your second Idea because if you have 400 characters in your database that would be one very long drop down list.

I will be adding paging soon so the amount of characters will not be an issue.

Steps represents the number of times that skill has gone up..

Another thing to keep in mind I can make most things optional.

For instance I can make the sort by Buffed skill an option that the admin of the site can turn off or on..

Yes, I would simply have the default details be only the information found in the attributes and skills section of the game UI. All other stats you want to include could then be, like you were thinking, admin controlled....such as buffed, steps, starting attributes, etc. Super clean and simple when first used, and the admin has all the options to push the limits after that. This would be perfect for when someone wraps their website's look and feel around your pages.

You say, "FOR THE VITAE!"
Ru tells you, "CHAZ!"
Simply Red tells you, "I am SO not recovering your body!"

Thank for the input once again..

Ok this is what I am going to do.....

Hopefully by the end of this week I will release the next generation of the server side code. It depends on how much time I have to work on this...

The changes that will be in this release are:

1)Sort functions. With Buffed skill search being an option that the admin can turn off and on.

2)Default sort will be admin controlled, by level or by name.

3)Search functions, with a partial name search.

4)Also admin controlled, the lines in the allegiance tree can be Black or Gray. This will just make it easier to fit things to your pages.

5)Add the character comparison code.

6)Add paging to the list. Admin controlled on how many characters display per page.

That will be most of the things that you are looking for...

Then I will make all of the admin controlled items changeable via a web page. Of course a valid user name password will need to be entered for access to this page.

These changes will require a change to the sql database so it makes sense to do them all at once.

Some of the things that will be added at this time is the ability to change the character page. IE the ability to add and remove columns, and anything else that I can think of or anything that you all can think of...

I will be adding the Augmentation information to the pages this is also a change to the tables, and this will require a change to the plug-in. So I will be asking you all once again if there is anything else that you think should be captured. So I can add them all at the same time..

Oh, if anyone has changed the css to fit there pages can you send me a link so I can see what it looks like. I ask because I think there may be one more tag that needs to be added. but I would like to see some examples first.....

Many thanks all.. Stay Safe..

I'll be in-game either tonight or tomorrow and will take a good hard look and see if there is anything else folks might find useful on the webpage. Sounds like you have the bulk, if not all. I'll post back here if I can or cannot think of anything.

Good luck and happy page building.

Hmmm.. had no idea this was in progress. heh.. I've been hoping that someone would pick up a replacement for meginjarder, as it is outdated bloatware, that doesn't seem to be supported anymore. I'll definatly be checking this out, and seeing how it incorporates with our current website.

so, I loaded up the server portion yesterday. Very simple. Anyone that has ftp access should be able to do it. Then after I got home, I loaded up the client. Again.. simple. There was no editing of xml files, like there was for Meginjarder.

I'll have to look through the database to see what all info is in there, and see how I can tidy up the webpage, cause right now, it's kinda "blah". I do like the way that Meginstats was laid out, and hope that I can do something similiar with it, and incorporate my Quest Timer database too.

One thing that I'm sure some people will have a problem with, is the ability to list all the charecters on a given charecter's account. Some people have "secret" charecters that they play and don't want anyone else to know about.

One of my goals in making this is to keep it simple for people to use and to keep it simple for people to change as they wish.

I see no reason why you would not be able to make it look like you wish, and incorporating your Quest Timer database into the HWAC pages should be simple to do.

If I can make a suggestion.

I would wait until the next release of the server side code before making any major changes, I say this because in adding the sorting, searching and compare functionality I have decided to break things out into several php scripts. This will do several things for me/us, 1) make it easier to read the code, 2) make it easier for others to make changes to the code.

The only things that I have to finish is to add Paging to the list pages, go through all of the code to clean it up, add comments to it and document the changes. Once this is done then I will release the code to you all.

If the list of characters is an issue there are two ways I could fix this.

1) add a check box to the plug-in to not send this information to the database.

2) or make it admin controlled not to display this information.

I like the first as it gives the individual user the control if they want this information to be sent or not.

Thanks...
