Theriex, in El's defense - I'd have to guess more than half of the posters on these various AC Forums no longer play, but, continue to enjoy what I have always considered AC's greatest aspect, that being the social one.

I will admit AC is one heck of a game, but what makes it stand out above all the rest is the community.


As for your 'friends' looking for me, You are more than welcome, thats a major part of EVE. Makes it more fun .

Eve is fun for a while. I played since beta hoping they'd grow a clue one day. It has a lot of potential but in it's current state is pretty much a trash MMO. I finally stopped as I could no longer stomach the jerks whining and getting everything they want. To many 733t d00d5 for my liking that are there for no reason other than to ruin someone elses day. It kind of resembles a social experiment designed to see who can be the largest butt waffle. It's basically Quake in space with mining and choke points to guarantee the prats optimal noob killing opportunities. Some people like this kind of mindless ganking where the attacker/camper has ALL the advantages and the defender is pretty much guaranteed to get popped. Personally I like a little more substance...

When I played Eve it reminded me of the insane people from the Movie Serenity - a bunch of rabid people who attack on sight for no other reason than to kill for the sheer delight of it. I did enjoy it for a time, I found mining so similar to mindlessly grinding for XP in a dungeon that it was vaguely unsettling. But AC as always lured me back in, though, in all seriousness, I never left.

I can't argue with that, altho some people get too attached to this game and its social aspects and seem to forget that it is just a game and outside this virtual reality is real life with real people. Then again maybe this is the place (AC) some people go because they can't make real friends in real life or are only able to get away with the things they do online than if they tried in the real world.

Howie, they recently added 'Warp to Zero'. Now all those kiddie gate gankers have to work for their kills . You can sail through low security space and so long as your not an idiot you can get through with no hastle at all.


Just recently I jumped into a 0.3 security system and some idiot opened fire on me. They were 191k from the gate and clearly using Tech 2 ammo (very expensive). I was in my Megathron, which they had no chance of destroying or even delaying .

I slowly aligned to the next gate (letting them waste some more ammo), then jumped to warp. Must have cost them a decent amount and got them nothing other than a sour taste in their mouth .

Oh you also can't do combat (at any range) while fitted with Warp Core Stabilizers. No more quick gank and run jobs. If they want to fight they have to stay and fight .


Anyway, this isn't the place to be discussing EVE .

Whats Warp to Zero?


Edit: I think i just figured that out, instead of warping to 15km out, you warp to 0m/right on top of your destination. Which saves the need for BM instajumps now.
