That's no better than the argument that your opponent may or may not be running Decal.

Yeah it is. Though, I really don't blame decal or the authors of the plug-ins for anything. Someone is going to do it no matter what. Ever game that can have 3rd Party programs will have 3rd Party programs. They should be complaining to Turbine its their game, it is their problem to fix if you put enough pressure on them. I think these personal attacks are childish. There is a real root to their 'problem' and it is with Turbine and them fixing the use of 3rd Party programs and not hacking plug-in authors accounts or flaming them on the forums or e-mailing them threats.

I would never tell anyone if I made a decal plug-in, because the community hunts them.

Well the problem with that theory is this: You can tell Turbine until you are blue in the face, but as long as these plugins do what I explain about below, why should they (Turbine) bother?

Decal turns Asheron's Call, a first generation MMO, almost into a 3rd generation MMO. (or something to that effect.) My favorite plugin of all time was Exception (I think...anyways, it was the one that rendered names and damage and stuff onto the screen). A lot of plugins offer an alternative to things that are simply missing in Asheron's Call that many other MMOs thought to integrate into their games.

A great example of something Turbine did with rares is something they SHOULD have done a LONG TIME AGO with cantrip or otherwise high tier loot. They added a little "ding" into the code. I mean genius...who thought of that? LOL...The know how has been there for almost the entire time the game has been online, minus 4 or 5 months or so. Something so simple as 6th sense quickly became the most popular plugin ever made in my opinion. And in my opinion, that is a feature Turbine should have integrated into the game from the start...or at the very least, with the release of the Dark Majesty expansion pack.

Also, I am very sorry for taking this thread off the main topic...LOL. Sorry Para, but hey look... free bumps!

You get the object ID of the monarch with player creation. To get the name of the monarch you need to id.

I think mini-pk used to maintain a list of known ids in xml, so that for those id's it wouldnt need to id, but you may have needed to update that file manually (not sure).

Shon is right, if you don't want to ID every time you can just store a list of monarch guids in an xml file and update when the plugin does ID.

A plugin I'm working on ID's every player but only players and even when going to marketplace or something I experience no additional lag. Keep in mind, people will be running other plugins as well that may also be doing IDing and I believe a lot of info gets cached somewhat anyway.

A popular example is after you ID a player/monster and the plugin outputs their level somewhere and you fail to ID them again (walked too far away of something), the level will still be output even though the GUI shows ???

A nice improvement would be to add coords to pk list. An option to make this relative or precise coords would be cool. Obviously another nice upgrade when you look at adding monarch names, would be the ability to mark them as ally/friend/enemy/unknown.
