Ashake, did you try changing the URL in GoArrow to the one on my server? http://decal.acasylum.com/files/cod_locations.xml


It seems like the connection is timing out before the download completes. You mentioned you have dialup, so I'm thinking that maybe the script on Warcry's server that generates the download file is timing out before you finish the download (most servers stop a script that's been running for too long). The file on my server is a static file--not a script--so it shouldn't time out.


It does seem a little fishy that it stops at the exact same percentage every time though.


[Edit] If you're able to download the atlas successfully outside of AC (the last line of the file should be "</atlas>", you can use that file to update by setting the update URL to:

file:///C:\Path To File\atlas_xml.xml

And yes, it did seem rather odd that it is stopping at the exact same spot in the download. I've been scratching my head over that one myself.


Edit: I changed the url to the one on your site, and it downloaded and converted as it should. So now we are back to the original problem ... why would it not update? It updated ok in December, and January. If you have something you want me to try, let me know and I'll give it a whirl

I was using the default installation URL (I'm not at home right now to check it). When I went there in a browser, it took a very long time, but eventually I got what looked like the complete file. Then I tried the in-game update again and it seemed to work.

Ashake: for now the only suggestion I have is to manually download the file and use the "file:///" URL I mentioned in my last post, whenever you want to update the database.
