Decal won't install, stuck on "Downloading DirectX SDK..." |
I'm trying to install decal but it keeps getting stuck at this point. It is trying to download the directx components I would assume but it is unable to do so. All my firewalls are turned off and I've even tried using someone elses internet connection at their house. Could the servers be down or am I doing something wrong? I've tried installing it using both the decal 3 setup.exe and the dxwebsetup.exe that I downloaded from acdev.org

Well I was able to install using this link that I found: http://core.decaldev.com/files/2960/decal.msi
Not sure if it's the most recent version but I should have the latest direct x anyways.

Now it lists no surrogate besides Decal Fileservice and there are red Xs in every box in the decal window

If everything shows red X's after install, you can try using the DecalUpdate Utility in the install directory, it *MIGHT* help with the red X's. It's worth a shot.

ive decided it has to do with having mutiple 'dual clients' and not having all of the files in each folder updated.

I've run ac and decal with dual client, and even if I have NOT updated the second client I didn't have issues with installation or updating. I've had issues with updating the memloc's thru the client but using the DecalUtility in the install folder. My guess is there is a dependancy someplace like .net or similiar req'd things to make it run.
