I seem to remember someone suggesting awhile back that it's because AC/Decal hasn't quite unloaded your toon (or plugins) from the world and if you try to switch too quickly you get those crashed, even while sitting on the selection screen.
Try waiting a few more seconds before picking another toon. I want to say this happens even without Decal on, but I could be wrong.

I've only ever had this problem with LTx enabled. I think thats already been looked at, but empiracally thats the only common thing whenever I crash. The time I wait between logging back in is irrelevant, it could be immediately, seconds, or minutes between logging back in. If I'm muling or something where I know I'll be on and off a bit I turn decal off.

it's not only ltx (I run into the problem on a pc that I've never had ltx on), and it doesn't fix it 100% to wait for a bit inbetween log in's. I got the same error when I waited like 45 minutes between log ins.

This happens when you are running a plugin that does not properly dispose of all off its objects on logoff. As this is a really easy mistake to make, lots of plugins probably exhibit this problem.
