great Haz, atm it's not a real problem, just log the toon in on another computer where 2960 is installed and sort the stuff.
but glad i caught an issue for you to resolve. more resolved prior to release, better you all look at release with an awesome upgrade that doesnt have to be patched on day one. or like a commerical relase that came WITH a patch on release day.

Hazridi,
Been crazy here today but this is what I managed to determine.
For NetEcho F745 hex create:
Flag is 20403A hex so 4000 hex is set which means 'container' should be available.
Exception HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component
I track this down to
pMsg.Value['container']
I verified that the pMsg packet does have 'container'.
The exception did not occur with the prior Beta Decal.
Tomorrow I will import type libraries and see if that 'fixes' things.

joe, I have never seen that behavior. I suspect it is related to a plugin calling view related decal bar functions while you login.
Flipo, if COM was broken then WF, CS, and SpellFilter would all fail to work properly. There may be some issues remaining with the new parser, but it's not broken as then the core filters would all fail.
My understanding based on a thread I read here some time ago was that this was a longstanding known bug in Decal. That's not the case?
Basically it can happen with any of a number of my plugins. It's common with SSSort and Squire especially, but also happens with Make It occasionally as well.
It never seems to happen with Alinco. Dunno if that helps at all.

Question:
Should I uninstall my previous version of Decal before installing 2.9.6.2?

Holy mother of batman, that is a lot of plugins. Can you try turning some off and seeing if that helps?
Also,
Network Filters, 1, AcPowerSaver, 1.0.3.0, {3DF94708-3539-4A17-A45E-6DDDBE7CD419}
this could do bad things depending on what it is even doing. Try turning it off.
Acpower saver is by -Lino- His site is found here: http://ac.ranta.info/DecalDev
What is is designed to do is reduce the cycles a modern high power computer uses for AC, it's adjustable in that you can select the amount of cycles it affects. There are 2 settings ranges, 1 to 5 for the login screen and 6 thru 10 that will also affect in-game play as well (I may have flipped the descriptions for the effect of the ranges but it's of little effective difference, half the settings affect the login/character selection screen and the other half also affect the game while playing).
I haven't used this particular plug-in but noticed it and went, huh- very interesting.

I know Acpowersaver is basically calling sleep in a loop. This is totally unsupported for any version of Decal, and will definitely cause performance issues if you do not have sufficient CPU.
Joe, it is not a decal bug as far as I know. The fact that it only happens with some plugins should be a pretty big indicator.

Ahh, okies, I wasn't sure if you were aware if it and it's details or not, being a busy person whom works on the self described 'mess' that is the older 'Core' parts of Decal. I'm sometimes known as Captain Obvious (or Captain Oblivious).
I would like to say THANK YOU for your work on Decal, past present and hopefully future
I suspect you don't hear that enough.
