The beta is available at http://www.decaldev.com/beta/

The real change in this version is the parser. We have converted the COM parser to use the managed parser and this needs testing. The only real way to test is to try and run Decal as usual with all of your plugins and filters enabled. As far our own testing has shown, everything is functional now, but this is a pretty big change and we need to make sure it is working for the general population.

There are other fixes as well -- Vista users should now be able to enable/disable plugins without an issue, we have found the usual set of CharacterStats and WorldFilter bugs which have been fixed, and in general this appears to be a pretty usable release. CharStats is now capable of reading vitae, cooldown, and void enchantments so logging in with any of these should no longer break anything. In addition, you should be able to use WF vending on vendors that sell items that have cooldown properties now.

If this parser does work out with few bugs, our dev time for the next beta cycle will mostly be devoted to making Decal work much better on newer versions of Windows.

First thing i've seen, right off the bat, if some older plugins are looking screwy. One called Quack, for instance. When you open the plugin, none of the words are showing. If you know where to click, you can still use them, but if it's one that has a bunch of options, you are kinda screwed.

Here's a link to quack to make it a little easier on you.

Edit: Oh yeah....Win XP Pro, SP3

I had the same issue with 2961 and an ATI 5870 card. Using the alternate injection method fixed it.

Hmm. Lemme give that a shot.

Edit: Nice. That worked. Are there any disadvantages to using the alt injection?

Actually, CharStats doesn't read void enchantments from the login packet yet.

However, cooldowns have been fixed so they are visible even when they were present at login. Before, they were only visible if the cooldown started when you were already logged in.

WorldFilter's 'Model' intvalue also now should be set properly.

Alt injection isn't as elegant. It loads the hook dll into a lot of processes and makes life hard on developers because things get locked when they shouldn't. But for the users, there is not a lot of difference.

Alt Injection was breaking alot of functions with the plugins. Had to go back to normal method.

Could you explain in greater detail?

The injection method shouldn't actually cause any changes at all, much less alter in-game effects.
