I actually did this with the Aerbax quest... that stupid long run at the beginning. It's not perfected yet but I made a preliminary .nav file.

We all have nav files for things we do often...but I think the power of the nav files, much like the loot profiles that we use at templates, is that they can be shared.
If we had a location to share nav files, we could use them to do thing and visit places we've never been, with the ease of having a tour guide. Not everyone would want them, but if I were trying to learn a new quest, it would be so helpful to have someone elses harlunes.nav file or mukkir2nddung.nav to start with.

Agnari, please post the Aerbax .nav file to Dropbox or some other free file hosting service. I know I'd like it for when I run the quest.

I wrote a simple C# plugin that captures/records coordinates every X interval for something I was working on. I've never looked at the inside of a .nav file, but it might be possible to have it produce whatever is inside a .nav file.
Also, @Ball-cruncher, you can hotkey the adding of waypoints so you can just run around while pressing the hotkey.

wow, if you could record the coordinates and then load them into vtank, that would be awesome. Imagine the accuracy of the routes.
