I installed Decal 2.9.6.0 from virindi's mirror. and I downloaded the 5 updated xml files from the same website and put them in the decal folder, overwriting the old files.

I then launched decal and selected my ac folder (crogramfiles/turbine/asheron's call). Everything looks good I got the black check marks, disabled all plugins but virindi tank bundle and alinco 3.
I go ingame, and there is no decal, no bar, nothing.

Before doing this I had tried decal 2.9.6.5 beta and it wouldnt launch AC while it was running, said AC client had stopped working.

Not sure what im doing wrong, any help would be appreciated. I am using Windows vista 32bit running both decal and Ac as administrator.

This is what im working with, I took a screenshot for you so you can see what I have.
This is after an uninstall, that registry cleaner exe which errored, a reboot, then a fresh install. I then hit the update and it update via your new server.

I go ingame, theres still no decal. And I did disable SLI just to see what would happen.

If the decal is installed via a setup.exe (where where the setup downloads the real msi installation) and it runs in a matter of a few seconds, then its not a correct/full installation.

I installed from the 2965.msi and now im having the same problem I was. I cant launch the game while decal 2965 is running. it says ac client has stopped working. before it even gets to the character screen.

my old install was from an msi too so disregard the last post about .exe.

says fualt module is decalnet.dll
the problem is that file, I deleted that file and I can now get ingame, but decal doenst show up. I tried updating it and it didnt restore the file. I can restore decalnet.dll if I want its in recyle bin.

Iv restored the file, same problem. I am uninstalling AC and reinstalling it from the files on ac.turbine.com

Reinstalled ac to the C:Games directory this time and still no luck, I cant get into the game with decal 2965 running. I guess im going to uninstall again and try 2960 again.

the picture of the files in the decal folder above is no longer accurate since i upgraded to 2965 via the msi file.
Iv tried alternate injection method and without. Im running launcher, client, and decal as administrator. I have disabled all plugins and still AC client crashes before it even launches.

One thing that I notice which may be a problem, is the launcher source is acclient.exe. but really ac launches via aclauncher.exe. dont know if its supposed to be that way or not. If its not, how do I change it?

And why is decalnet.dll preventing me from launching the client?

Go here... follow this guide, pay special attention to the part where it tells you to create alternate install paths. I copied the the part of the post that you need to pay the most attention to.

1. New install of Windows 7 - 64bit
2. Download and install all updates for Win7
3. Download and install the Asheron's Call client from http://ac.turbine.com and click on "Client Download"
3a. While installing, be sure to change the install path from "C:\Program Files (x86)..." to "C:\Games" This is VERY IMPORTANT
If you have copies of the current client_cell_1.dat, client_highres.dat, client_local_English.dat, and client_portal.dat, copy them to the directory that you installed to.
4. Launch AC, log in and update to ensure that you have successfully installed AC. Answer "Allow Access" to any firewall messages that pop up.
5. Install DirectX 9.0c
6. Install Decal
6a. Again, it is VERY IMPORTANT to change the install path during the install. Change it from "C:\Program Files (x86)" to something like "C:\Games"
7. Find Decal running in your system tray. Right click, and select close.
8. Right click on Decal on your desktop, and select "Run as administrator"
9. Right click on Decal in your system tray, and select "Configure".
10. When prompted stating that "One or more of your XML files were not found!", click on the OK button
11. Click on "Update" and wait for the window to refresh with black checks instead of red x's.
12. Again, load Asheron's Call to ensure that you have no problems logging onto the server. This time, you should actually enter the game to ensure that Decal is loading properly. You should see the decal bar with the DHS icon in the upper left corner.

btw im not using windows 7 im using vista, and its not 64 bit, thus there is no x86 its just program files.

im running AC launcher and Decal as admin, I even set acclient.exe to run as an admin too.
