Ah, thanks. Yeah, the standalone vTank doesn't have it.

Well, after deleting and reinstalling my portal.dat file, which has been causing me to red link due to corruption, I ran fine for a week. Problem popped back up today. Since i'm waaaay to lazy to move everything into a different folder other than program files, this is what I did. Someone let me know if they can think of any negatives for this.
I unchecked the read-only tab under properties for program files and applied it to all sub folders.
***** I do not recommend this for anyone who believes the e-mails they get about making $5k a week at home with no start up costs. Or for people who have an addiction to porn. Or for anyone who thinks the only correct answer to pop-ups is YES.********

I downloaded the bundle and am still playing with it, but I have found that the Loot Editor does not work.
When I click on the box, it does not become checked nor does it open the editor. Any ideas?

I can get it to load the example.utl file, but I click the check box for loot editor and it does not bring up the editor like the old stand alone version used too. Any suggestions? Manually looting hurts my fingers ;-p

Currently the 'show editor' box doesn't do anything. It is just there in case there is a lootplugin that uses it in the future.
VTank loots using 'lootplugins'. These are a type of plugin which serve the purpose of telling VTank which items to pick up and what to do with them. Right now, there are two lootplugins: VTClassic (comes with the bundle), and Alinco3.
To use VTClassic, you must create a profile with the external editor. It is the .exe file in your install directory (default c:\program files\virindiplugins\virinditankclassiclooter in XP, c:\games\virindiplugins\virinditankclassiclooter in vista/7).
There are 2 instruction pages on VTClassic:
http://www.virindi.net/wiki/index.php/VTClassic_Tutorial
http://www.virindi.net/wiki/index.php/VTClassic_AdvancedLooting
The second page has a couple of complete example profiles which are pretty much up to date. (Profiles go in your vtank directory)
To use Alinco3, follow the instructions in FAQ #1: http://www.virindi.net/wiki/index.php/Virindi_Tank_FAQ

With all due respect to your efforts to improve the looting for some, the orignal approach with the in game editor worked superbly for me. I will have to do without loot. TOo complicated now.

I apologize if I got grumpy, really hate looting over hours manually. I cut and paste the old edit in the oringal stand alone VT file into the new one. Works adequately and I can see how to make new entries.
I do wonder why you did away with the looter interface, but your ability to write the code is non the less comendable and I appreciate your enhancing the game experience.

Is all of my time trying to use the uTank2 to create sweet loot profiles at a waste? Should I be just ussing alinco? I really like how Vtank loots but I have had an issue with Vtank wanting to loot other players bodies. I have been trying to think of a fix, but I am still stuck with the problem, and also with the empty bodies everywhere, please help Virindi!

VTClassic is more powerful than Alinco, but also harder to learn. I wouldn't say it's a waste.
As for looting other players' kills, look in advanced options: "LootAllCorpses" and "LootFellowCorpses" should both be false.
