create a new loot profile and call it alinco.los, enable looting.

That will tell vtank to use alinco for looting.

On that note though, I'm considering switching/trying vtank classic looter over alinco for the simple reason that alinco still picks up random junk.

If you ident (right click) an item, will vtank let you know what profile that item triggers like alinco does?

When you open up a corpse, will vtank let you know what items are a hit like alinco does?

VTank won't do it when you right click, but it will do it if you use the command line feature:

/vt testitem

That will tell you which (if any) profile that the item matches. Note, if it matches more than one profile, it will display the highest priority match, so this makes it great for testing items to see if the profiles/priorities are setup correctly.

As for opening a corpse like Alinco does, if there's a way, I haven't figured it out yet. The VTank looting feature is more while the macro is running, not for manually opening corpses, like Alinco would be.

Ahh ok, gotcha.

That notify on ident feature Alinco does is pretty handy when going through mules.

Is there a way to make VT ignore prismatics when autostacking, so I don't cast a spell, go out of combat mode and attempt to autostack prismatics, cast a spell, go out of combat mode and attempt to autostack prismatics, cast a spell, go out of combat mode and attempt to autostack prismatics, cast a spell, go out of combat mode and attempt to autostack prismatics.

Makes buffing take FOREVER.

Nm, found a work around, make sure the smallest stack of prismatics is "1st" in your packs and manually stack the other stacks to 1000.

Please let me know if this still happens with vtank 0.3.1.54, in that version I fixed a bug in vtank's object tracker which could have caused alinco to sometimes be asked about a missile weapon before it had gotten an ID for it.

I'll give .54 a try shortly.

Next question.

I'm using a profile that shows up in vtank as [Char] olthoi

If I do:
/vt settings load olthoi

It simply loads olthoi.usd, not [Char] olthoi.usd

How do I load a [Char] profile via command line?

Thanks!

If you take a look in the VTank directory, you'll see your profile file actually looks like this:

--yourcharname_servername_profilename.usd

I just noticed though, that you won't be able to load settings profiles which are like this with the commandline if your character name has spaces in it because the '/vt settings load' command doesn't allow spaces in the parameter. Oops.

If your char name has spaces in it, you could always just do '/vt settings load foo' and set up the settings in there, it just won't show up in the dropdown.

Thanks VI.

Most of my chars have -'s in their name. Perhaps that causes a similar issue to a space. I still can't seem to get the profiles to load, with/without --'s, with/without the .usd, etc..

I'm plenty familiar with the usd format and edditing files by hand. Oh how i wish they were in xml.

XML, pfft!

I'm not suggesting that you edit the profiles manually, though. If you do a /vt settings load foo, then it will create the foo profile for you.

FYI, part of the purpose of the "VTank Database" format is to allow easy data merging with db files sent over the wire. Note that the VT gameinfodb is in the same format, and the initial update for it can be quite large as it contains potentially a list of every monster, health kit, and trade interaction in the game. I do not consider XML to be a very good format for network transmissions like that due to the unnecessary extra size that it adds.

Seems to work.

Think aetheria might be affected by the same bug? In the latest beta alinco you can add Coelasced Aetheria and set the max pickup amount to be the lowest lvl of aetheria to pick up. It still rarely picks up lower aetheria that doesn't trigger the profile (similar to the old missile weap bug).

I'm guessing he uses the extended description to ID the aetheria instead of the icon #.
