ok guys, here's my overly extensive loot profile.

It's called loot snob because it sets the bar pretty high on most items.

Please look through it before use and edit to your own preferences.

Everything you may ever want to loot should be in it (save for the odd trophy).

Added LP skill check to Shattered Mana Forge Keys

Fixed variance numbers on light/finesse max bd8 weapons

Bob, all your weapon rules use Buffed Max Damage. Why not use Calced Buffed Tinked Damage? You'll pick up more weapons that way that have equal or better 10-tinked potential.

It also removes the need to add variance checks.

because honestly, i don't like using that. I really don't think i'd pick up any more weapons...

as it sits it only loots weapons at max damage with average or better dot.

According to Endy's Tinkering Calc a sword with bd8
34.5 - 65 = .47 var = 96.11 dot = best variance
32.5 - 65 = .50 var = 95.81 dot
30.55 - 65 = .53 var = 95.55 dot = average variance
27.95 - 65 = .57 var = 95.2 dot
24.7 - 65 = .62 var = 94.79 dot = worst variance

33.92 - 64 = .47 var = 95.05 dot = best variance
and it goes down from here.

Even with the best possible variance it's still lower DOT than every variance at max damage other than the worst possible, and it's WAY easier for the layman to make use of this and edit to their personal preference than having to figure out dot numbers.

If I were to switch to using the dot calculations, i'd still put swords at 95.55...

It is called loot snob after all....

You will miss out on weapons that surpass that using minor/major/epic blood thirst, but have a worse variance.

I agree its easier to read, but unfortunately easy to read equates to leaving great stuff on corpses to decay.

blood thirst cantrips change the max damage, but variance still stays the same.

If the blood thirst cantrip equals to max base damage its exactly the same as a max damage without cantrip. If it exceeds max damage the over damage(OD) rule gets tripped regardless of variance.

For instance
34.5 - 65 BD8 = .47 var = 96.11 dot = best variance
32.33 - 61 BD8 Major BT = .47 var = 96.11 dot = best variance

32.86 - 62 BD8 Major BT = .47 var = 97.15 dot = best variance
23.56 - 62 bd8 Major BT = .63 var = 95.84 dot = worst possible var

Even at the worst variance, if it exceeds max bd8 it is still better than average variance max bd8 weapons.

Without spending a lot of time right now on the math (that I don't have)..

Here is how I'm seeing it.

Lets say, and I'm just pulling these numbers out of my head.. the max + bd8 is 62 and your variance is .5

Well, you could find a 63 with a variance that is off by 1 granite tink. Your rule would fail because the variance is too low, but the end result of the weapon is the same.
