It's Bump Day!
A roughly every 2 month event where I bump (obviously) posts that I believe to have value and that the info tends to be buried or non- existent elsewhere (at least in it's format here).

I guess my level 91 Og mage who just came back after five years can stop worrying about these for awhile

Well you can stop worrying about casting 8's on your level 91 that's for sure, you COULD still work on getting the spells, 8's are like 7's, ANY toon can learn them if you have spent the skill credits on the school or not.
So if you come across the parts to make one, go for it, just means less work later.

THanks Magelett, that is good advice.
SO what are the good templates these days for mages? I am currently Spec: Life/Creature/War Trained: Item/Mana C
I see a lot of mages going with melee D (much more than when I left the game). Should I be looking to unspec life or creature (or both) and start training or speccing Melee D? ANd when/what level does that make sense to do? I am now level 96 after being back for 2 weeks.
