She figured she was wasting their time so they couldn't bother other people and she could spend an hour or two bragging about her grandchildren and showing picture.

Incorrect- but they don't drink coffee or tea. Other caffeinated beverages are often consumed. There are some who won't drink anything with caffeine in it but as far as "the rules" goes, it's only caffeine and tea which are no-nos.

The only drinks besides alcohol that Mormons are not supposed to drink are coffee and tea.
Anything else with caffeine is fine (sodas, energy drinks, etc), but some Mormons voluntarily avoid anything with caffeine in it at all.
Make sense?

Any kind of stimulant or substance that could lead to addiction is bad to them. So no caffeine at all, not just coffee / tea. They just haven't bothered to update the Official Book of Stupendeousness since '72 about it.
