Ask her out anyway. Just never never never say anything that could be construed as bad about your ex. Like, ever. If it ever comes up, just keep it to "we just had some differences we couldn't work out" or w/e. Very neutral, no assigning blame to her (even if the whole thing was 100% her fault).
