Women's ponchos can be rather stylish, though.
The one on the far right reminds me of some kind of grim reaper.
I actually think all of those are hideous, although there are some ponchos that I like, generally I don't care for the ones of heavy fabric.
I like the one on the left and the one in the middle. I didn't like the one you posted at all. I've seen some really nice ones at craft fairs, but this is the only pic that comes close to them.
I like that one, I like the sheer ones mostly, the heavy ones seem so gloomy to me.

That's something I'd like to see. Was this poncho conservative in style or rather flamboyant?
It was crocheted and stripey and so very flamboyant. I had (and still have, to an extent) a very eccentric dress style.
Did you make it? What material? I'm assuming not nylon.

No this was in the days when digital cameras were still not very common, so the only pictures we'd have of it are in my mum's photo album.
