I almost bought one, but changed my mind. Â It is a rip off.Keurig Platinum: $200 with tax included80 pack of cups: Â $40The first 200 cups are going to cost me about $1.50 eachAfter that, the machine will break or something.I will stick with my trusty Tim Hortons coffee maker. Â A pot costs me about .15 cents and its amortization cost over the last 3 years has dropped down to about .3 cents a cup, if that. Â

I don't disagree.

But there was very little on my wife's list.

So if it makes her happy

I don't drink coffee, so I had no idea what a Keurig is. I came here expecting boobs.

I bought the Mini Plus Keurig, it doesn't have it's own water tank but that's fine for me because I just fill it with the cordless electric kettle that sits next to it. I don't have alternate cup sizes though, it fills my coffee cups just fine so I'm very happy with it.

I'm just too frugal to spend $200 on a coffee maker for my cup a day habit, but I got mine at Big Lots for $60. I think I'm going to start buying mine on amazon for the k-cups. I have the refillable one but it kinda defeats the purpose of the Keurig IMO. also, don't try to put hot chocolate or spiced cider powder in the refillable k-cup, it does not work.

I looked into that thing, $20 canadian for a little filter...

Unless there is another option?

This is what I was thinking of, http://www.amazon.com/EZ-Cup-Keurig-Coffee-Machines-Perfect/dp/B002YPC 2NM , but I wager it'd be about $20 Canadian, if the exchange rate is still what I think it is.

what? the canadian dollar is worth more than the american dollar right now.

$5 is a reasonable price. They are definately gouging with their new price for an item that costs less than $1 to make.
I think they realized a few things
1) They make huge profit on the little cups
2) The filters were too popular
3) They'd lose money if filters were too cheap

I'll keep looking.
